Where's Waldo....er, Prince Phillip? Just follow the raised glasses to the extreme right in the group of people by the red steps. I'm glad to see him out and about and doing his engagements once again.

He is back at work. He undertook 5 engagements yesterday according to the Court Circular.

Shiver...another woman who needs some fashion assistance. Isn't she on the down-side to 50? Or perhaps she is stuck in one of her period pieces.
She is a fine actress, tho.

Helena is unique and marchs to her own fashion drummer. Current fashion trends are not something she pays any attention to at all.

I had that same reaction when I saw the picture. Couldn't find him to save my life. I'm glad he's out and about, and (hopefully) feeling better.

I agree with you in regards to this woman's attire choices. I think they're wacky, but I give her credit for dressing how she likes and not caring what anyone thinks.

One thing you have to say about Helena is she's consistent. She dresses to please herself and always has done. I have to say I admire her for it.

That's actually a mild look for Helena...she is usually a bit more "adventureous" with her style of dress. I do admire her ability to stand out and not go with the masses and she is a brillant actress!
One of my girlfriends met her at some award show (she works of ABC) and Helena told her that she loved her dress (her style if very different from Helena's), my girlfriend (who meets star atheletes and television stars all the time) blurted out...OMG I love you! After they shared a laugh, my girlfriend told her that she was one of her favorite actresses and she totally loved her work. They then took a picture which is on her Facebook page. I was a bit jealous!
It looks like she and the Queen shared a joke! A great picture.

Good for Prince Phillip. I hope his small party that our fellow forumer Alex (aka Diarist) was to have attended was still scheduled and she got to see him.
And Helena B-C is certainly an iconoclast with her fashion choices and most of the time I really dislike her clothing, but what she wore to this occasion is somewhat appealing. It looked to be a tartan plaid with a slight bustle at the back with her little Edwardian-type topper, perhaps a nod to the Queen and setting. Even her Order just seemed to complement her outfit. And it looks like she and HM had a jolly moment there, too. She's such a brilliant actress and I'm so glad she was awarded the CBE.

To me it reads as if the Queen sought Betty's help when she was pregnant with Edward because of the Michael Fagan intrusion and Koo Stark being exposed but...that doesn't make sense as when these above incidents occurred Edward was already 18.
Edward - born 1964
Fagan intrusion - 1982
Koo - 1982 as well.
I think it is supposed to be that in 1982, because of the extra stress she suffered that year The Queen again sought Betty's advise on how to relax because Betty had advised her during her pregnancy with Edward. It might be that the article is indicating that the rumours that Betty had helped the Queen in 1964 surfaced in 1982 but whatever the section is supposed to be saying it is sloppy writing and unfortunately it is something the DM is doing more and more lately.

Sloppy writing and editing, both.

She looks terrific, every inch Helena B-C! We have come to expect nothing less than her inimitable style.
She certainly learn't how to curtsey with style though!

Helena Bonham Carter
Helena Bonham Carter is the spitting image of her Grandmother, Lady Violet Bonham Carter ( Baroness Asquith ) daughter of the former Primeminister, and a politician and peeress in her own right. I recently saw some old footage of Lady Vi and was immediately struck by the likeness. Helena also bears a certain resemblence to her maternal Great-Grandmother, Margot Asquith ( Countess of Oxford ) Looking at an old photograph of Margot, might give us some idea as to what Helena will look like, when she is an elderly Dame of the Realm.

The pictures on Google of Violet and Margot look nothing like Helena, except perhaps in the eyes. Margot's face on her wikipedia photo is hilarious though.
