It just seems like a few weeks ago when the Queen's grandson and granddaughter-in-law, William and Catherine, planted their poppies! :flowers::flowers:

Awesome! Yay, Dame Maggie! I expected her to wear something more dramatic- she looks so different out of costume and character.
Well deserved m'lady!
Now if only Robert Hardy would receive and accept a knighthood. Crossing my fingers for the New Years Honors list.

The Queen today sent the first royal tweet under her own name to declare a new Science Museum gallery open. Normally a plaque is unveiled to herald the launch of a new project, but after touring the attraction dedicated to the history of communication and information the Queen touched a tablet screen to send her message to the world. The royal tweet read: "It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.".

Last year, Wolverhampton was voted the one of the least happy cities in the UK. Today, at least, it was all smiles as the Midlands city enjoyed its first visit from the Queen since 1994.
Her Majesty was in the Midlands city to visit a printing firm which specialises in creating postage stamps and to open a brand new car factory which is expected to bring 1,400 jobs to the area.
Joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen was all smiles as she arrived at International Security Printers in Wolverhampton's i54 business park and looked on typically sprightly form as she met workers and well-wishers.

Lately Prince Philip has been looking much better than the Queen...

Sorry for my ignorance: but why "Royal Hugnesses"? Doesn't the queen have a higher title i.e. "Her Majesty"?

Her Majesty is the highest style that The Queen holds but...she didn't stop being HRH when she became The Queen. So although inaccurate to use the lower styling it isn't totally wrong (any more than calling William Prince William now that he has the higher title of Duke of Cambridge - he is still Prince William as well).

We heard The Queen Mum described as a High and Mighty Princess at her funeral (and the same terminology will be used at The Queen's).

Ah thank you very much... I think I will never understand styles, ranks etc:ermm:
