The Duke looks great today! Such an inspiration for all of us to keep going even into our older years.

The Duke of Edinburgh is showing no sign of slowing down - although I don't suppose it will stop criticism of younger royals who are not "stepping up". Don't know who can stop him working, to be honest.

The article is from the Telegraph, which now limits access. This is from the article:

His diary for the next month shows that the 92-year-old Duke will carry out almost 50 per cent more engagements than he did in the same period last year.

Between October 15 and November 15 the Duke will attend 29 events, including trips to Belgium, Portsmouth and Manchester. In the same period last year he managed only 20.
The Duke's visit to Belgium on Armistice Day, when he will attend a Last Post ceremony in Ypres, will be his first foreign visit since undergoing abdominal surgery in June, when he spent almost two weeks in hospital.

He will also be by the Queen's side during a three-day State visit by the President of South Korea, Park Geun-hye.

Among the many events in London he will attend is a visit to the National Theatre to mark its 50th anniversary and the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph.

I admire the determination that burns within Prince Philip to continue doing his royal duties and supporting The Queen, despite his health issues and age. I guess he will continue on until the engine in his body runs out of fuel.

She hired him when he was aged 74. I love that.

My proverbial hat goes off to Prince Philip. He has the energy I lack in my early 30s. I hope he continues to do what he loves, which is keeping busy, and supporting his wife and country.

I totally agree with you here. This is a man that can probably put just about any man 20 years younger than he to shame. It totally amazes me how physically and mentally fit Philip is for a 92 years young gentleman.

The Queen has voiced her concern about children being attracted to computer games and e-books rather than reading traditional paper books.

The monarch told Chocolat author Joanne Harris 'she feared that children were playing with those [games] more than they were reading books'.

Unusual for the Queen to openly express an opinion on such an issue, but sure to touch a nerve with many parents and grandparents

The Queen spoke as she awarded Chocolat author Harris an MBE for services to literature at Buckingham Palace today

I definitely agree with her concern of children spending more time on computer games than reading books.
But reading e-books than traditional paper books is nothing wrong. She may end up getting called outdated..JMO.

She has not expressed this openly. Its just the person to whom she spoke came out and told the media..If everyone starts doing so, then we may have a book on Queen's opinions and views..

Prince Philip attended his 500th Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award presentation at St James's Palace today. The Duke founded the programme more than 50 years ago to inspire, guide and support young people between the ages of 14 and 24. More than eight million people have taken part across the world, and nearly 900,000 young people are currently participating in the award and others based on it in some 140 countries and territories-
