The captions were no help - called this a photograph/gift from the Republic of Kosovo to the Queen. Can anyone make out what this is? Weekly Bucket - Jul 13 - Jul 19 - Pictures - Zimbio

The Queen smiled broadly this morning as she arrived in the London borough of Dagenham to the sound of loud cheering from a crowd of flag-waving locals. Her Majesty, 89, was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh who moved through the crowd outside the Chadwell Heath Community Centre shaking hands and cracking jokes. But the Duke also made another of his famous gaffes, asking a group of community centre workers: 'So who do you sponge off then?' .

The Queen paid a visit to Sydney Russell School today, a primary, secondary and sixth form school, where they toured the new facilities. Her Majesty and the Duke also watched a cycle polo demonstration and visited students in their classrooms. They ended their visit by watching a musical interlude and joined the school in celebrating the opening of the new building. .

She looked great, as always.

Had to google Matt Smith as Prince Philip to be reassured that he might work for the role.

I liked him as the Doctor and have no doubt in his acting abilities, but until I saw pictures of him in costume I couldn't wrap my head around him playing the DoE.

. Glad that the mascot didn't attempt to nip at HM again this year and indeed that he is recovering well. The Queens outfit was lovely.

Mark your calendars. The Braemar Games are on September 5 this year. It is an annual giggle fest to Her Majesty and the POW (I believe it is the sack races that get them atwitter).

They say the nicest thing about the Queen on their home page:

"While there have been Gatherings of one sort or another at Braemar since the days of King Malcolm Canmore, nine hundred years ago, the Gathering has been run by BRHS since 1832 and from 2011 the Gathering has been run by Braemar Royal Highland Charity. However during much of that time large crowds have come each year to acclaim their Monarch as Chieftain of the Braemar Gathering."

The Queen is all smiles as she rounds off the week in which she became Britain's longest-reigning monarch with horse show in Scotland | Daily Mail Online

Resplendent in a houndstooth grey and white coat, the Queen rounded off a week in which she became Britain's longest serving monarch by attending one of her favourite events - a horse show in Scotland.

The Queen arrived by Range Rover to the Longines FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) European Eventing Championship at Blair Castle, Perthshire.
The Queen looked great, and she was smiling as usual.
