Buckingham Palace

The following were received in audience by The Queen today and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassadors: Mr. Andrew Soper (the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) and Mr. Gareth Ward (the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
Mrs. Soper and Mrs. Ward were also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The Queen upon their appointment as British High Commissioners: Mr. David Ward (Solomon Islands) and Ms. Joanna Lomas (the Republic of Rwanda).
Mr. Christopher Finucane was also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs. Nuala McGourty was received by The Queen upon relinquishing her appointment as Retail Director, Royal Collection Enterprises.

The Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

Court Circular 27th June:
Buckingham Palace

Her Excellency Ms Pengiran Rooslina Weti Pengiran Kamaludin was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam in London.

His Excellency Mr Hugo Guiliani Cury was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Dominican Republic to the Court of St James’s.
Mrs Laura Messina was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The President of the Republic of Iraq and Dr Salih visited The Queen this afternoon.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Right Reverend James Newcome (Clerk of the Closet and Bishop of Carlisle) at the Memorial Service for the Right Reverend the Lord Habgood (formerly Archbishop of York) which was held in York Minster this morning.
The Prince of Wales was represented by the Right Reverend James Jones.
The Duke of York was represented by the Earl of Halifax.
The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Sir William Worsley, Bt.

Court Circular 28th June:
Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen this morning visited Greenfaulds High School, Auchenkilns Road, Cumbernauld, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire (Rear Admiral Michael Gregory) and Councillor Thomas Castles (Depute Provost of North Lanarkshire).

Her Majesty viewed an exhibition on the history of Cumbernauld and met teachers and members of staff, before viewing a performance by North Lanarkshire Schools’ Pipe Band.

The Queen afterwards listened to a Gaelic poetry recital by a pupil from Condorrat Primary School and a Gaelic song by pupils of East Dunbartonshire String Ensemble.

Her Majesty this afternoon arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

A Guard of Honour found by F Company, Scots Guards, under the command of Major Thomas Mortensen, was mounted in the Forecourt.

Later The Queen was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt Hon the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.

Her Majesty was received afterwards inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

Court Circular 29th June:
Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, drove to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, to mark the Parliament’s Twentieth Anniversary and was received at Queensberry House by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost), the Rt Hon Kenneth Mackintosh MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) and the Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government).

The Presiding Officer welcomed Her Majesty and His Royal Highness and The Queen was graciously pleased to address the Scottish Parliament.

Members of the Scottish Parliament subsequently addressed the Parliament and the Presiding Officer closed the Session of Parliament.

A Guard of Honour was found by The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

Afterwards the Very Reverend Professor Iain Torrance was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland and Dean of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Very Reverend Professor David Fergusson was received by The Queen upon assuming his appointment as Dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland and Dean of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

Court Circular 3rd July:
Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Rt Hon Kenneth Mackintosh MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) was received by The Queen today.

The Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government) was received by Her Majesty.

The Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry KT (Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland) was received by The Queen and reported on the recent proceedings of the General Assembly.

Mr Adair Anderson, winner of the annual shooting event of The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, was presented to Her Majesty this afternoon and received The Queen’s Prize.

The Queen gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Duke of York, The Earl of Wessex and Forfar and The Princess Royal were present.

The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The Royal Marine Band Scotland, the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

Court Circular 4th July:
Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen this morning visited Gorgie City Farm, 51 Gorgie Road, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and the chairman (Mr George Elles).

Her Majesty toured the farm, escorted by Mr Iain Herbert (chief executive), viewing the gardens and meeting children carrying out experiments in the duck enclosure.

The Queen then moved to the stables and the farm, viewing cows and sheep, and afterwards Her Majesty met Pet Lodge volunteers and children working with small animals.

The Queen, Patron, this morning visited the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, Park Farm, Cambridge, to celebrate the Institute’s Centenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mrs Julie Spence), the Board Chairman (Mr James Godfrey) and the Mayor of Cambridge (Councillor Gerri Bird).

Her Majesty toured the Institute, escorted by Dr Tina Barsby (Chief Executive and Director), viewing various displays and meeting long-serving members of staff.

The Queen, Patroness, was entertained to Luncheon at Queens’ College, Cambridge, this afternoon by the President of the College (the Lord Eatwell) and was received by Mr Richard Barnwell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire).

The Queen later visited Royal Papworth Hospital, Papworth Road, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge, and was received by The Duchess of*Gloucester, Patron, Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Chairman (Professor John Wallwork) and Mr Stephen Posey (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty, accompanied by Her Royal Highness and escorted by the Chairman and Chief Executive, toured the Hospital and met teams of members of staff and two former transplant patients, before opening the Hospital.

Mr Gary Crosby was received by The Queen today when Her Majesty presented him with The Queen’s Medal for Music.
Ms Judith Weir (Master of The Queen’s Music) was present.

The Queen received the Bishop of Norwich (the Right Reverend Graham Usher) who did homage upon his appointment.
The Rt Hon David Gauke MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.
The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The Right Reverend and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally was received in audience by The Queen upon assuming her appointment as Dean of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal.

Mr Robin Budenberg (First Crown Estate Commissioner and Chairman, the Crown Estate Commission) was received by The Queen.

Dame Alison Nimmo (Chief Executive, the Crown Estate) was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen, Duke of Lancaster today received Sir Alan Reid (Chairman of the Council of the Duchy of Lancaster) and Mr Nathan Thompson (Chief Executive Officer).

Her Majesty, Colonel-in-Chief, Le Régiment de la Chaudière, this afternoon received the following: Brigadier Denis Belleau (Regimental Honorary Colonel), Mrs Monique Leroux (Regimental Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel), Lieutenant-Colonel Francois Provost (Commandant Regiment de la Chaudiere), Captain Richard Paradis (Regimental office representative), Captain Daniel Granotier (Regimental honorary ambassador), Captain Maurice Robbens (Regimental honorary ambassador), Chief Warrant Officer Eric Lapalme (Regimental Sergeant-Major) and Master Warrant Officer Denis Halle (Instruction Sergeant-Major).

The Queen this afternoon viewed the Summer Opening Exhibition at Buckingham Palace celebrating the Bicentenary of Queen Victoria's birth.
