not at all. especially offenses like money laundering, tax offences etc (of course within certain boundaries) you can do a deal with the authorities if you open up and pay back. imo this is business as usual in many countries. for example in germany it was possible for a long time to defo avoid prison if you denounce yourself and pay the money back.
