I have always wondered why Elena had such an interest in special education. Does anyone know anything about her early life? What was she like in school?

Once she qualified as a primary educator in 1986, the Infanta spent a year teaching English at her former secondary school before pursuing further studies in educational sciences.

Upon the resumption of her career after a decade as a homemaker, she once again became an English teacher, but after two years took a position as director of social and cultural projects for the Mapfre Foundation in 2008. She worked for the foundation alongside her official program of duties during her father's reign, and it became her full-time career.

She completed her secondary studies at the Colegio de Santa María del Camino, and then those of Teaching at the Escuela Universitaria ESCUNI, in Madrid, graduating in 1986 as a teacher of Basic General Education, specializing in English Philology.

After a year of working as an English teacher at the Colegio Santa María del Camino, and a specialized course in Sociology and Education at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, she completed her studies at the University of Comillas, Madrid, where she obtained a bachelor's degree. in Educational Sciences in June 1993.
