I couldn't tell from the article if she was leaving her teaching job or taking on a second job for supplemental income. I would assume the former is true.

At least she's doing something! Sure, we all live in difficult times now, and we see the royals aren't spared, and we should probably be grateful that even the King's daughter is concerned about her own living expenses instead of waiting for doleouts from the government, which means using the taxpayers' money.

Thanks for the articles and pics.

This article that LadyFinn posted (La infanta Elena estrena nueva vida - 20minutos.es) says that Elena will be taking on the MAPFRE job in addition to her teaching.

Here's an Hola article about Froilan's birthday: LA CELEBRACIÓN FAMILIAR POR EL DÉCIMO CUMPLEAÑOS DE FELIPE DE MARICHALAR.

btw, this article says that the kids will spend July with Jaime and August with Elena.

I understand that he had the stroke a while ago - it definitely affected one of his hands which is always clenched into a fist. It may have also affected his walking. I know that strokes can change a person's personality.

It is a shame that he had to experience this at such a young age too. I've also noticed that he is now walking with a limp as well.

I am so glad to see Infanta Elena getting on with her life and enjoying her two beautiful children. It´s a shame that the marriage had to end, but living with a person who suffered a stroke and never really recovered, must be a very hard task. I hope life will give all of them a new chance to be happy.

I have come to really admire Elena - she seems to be a very caring and loving mother.
She works hard, goes about her daily life. She seems very down-to-earth even with the papparazzi always milling about, she seems to be gracious and unassuming.
It is too bad that her marriage floundered, but she seems to have taken charge and gotten on with her life.
