In my opinion, they got the name just right with Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor. It was a perfect name for Lady Louise. I think they got the alliteration of the L's in Lady Louise and the M's in Mary Mountbatten just right. Also, the name is in somewhat alphabetical order, not that that really matters- A, E, and M.

I hope they get the name right with their son too.

I like the names of Philip and George.

I think the Viscount Severn will be named Philip Albert Christopher Edward (after his paternal grandfather and great-grandfather, his maternal grandfather, and his father)

What about Sedward or Sophard?

Sedward Severn
Sophard Severn
Edphie Severn (Royal Fan)

I'm just kicking a little silliness into the thread.

Now that my wish has come true for the baby to be born a boy, I want him more than before to be named Philip as his first name, after all, he will be a Duke of Edinburgh too one day.

The Queen's father's first name was really Albert actually.

i think that this may be what edward and sophie will decide but maybe in a different order

Albert Philip Christopher Edward

or they might use George or maybe include the name of a godparent

maybe William or Harry

????

I would have to agree with you that since it's a boy, now that I think about it, his first name should be Philip. Philip Albert James Christopher has a nice ring to it.

I still think it will be George.
George Edward Christopher Philip

Albert has already been used for Albert Windsor. They're not going to give it as a first name to a child so close in age to him. I also doubt that Philip is going to want his grandson to have his first name any more than Elizabeth does. I'd like to see them branch out and use something adventurous: Arthur, Alfred, Augustus, Leopold, Theophilius, Duncan, Malcolm, Graeme, Piers, etc., but they're royal, this is the heir to the Duke of Edinburgh's title, and I think they're going with George because it is connected to the Greek and the British royal families. Isn't George the patron saint of England too?

I like your choices of names! George,Philip, Edward and Christopher, all chosen to honor family members. How long do you think it will be before the name is released?

My gut tells me it will be Philip, and then Christopher for his other grandfather, and then maybe Edward as one of the 4 names for Prince Edward.

I just feel it will be Philip for some reason.

On a sidenote, I am really surprised no one has used Victoria for a girl in a quite a while, seeing as early on there were so many, but maybe the family was Victoria'ed out? ;-)

But then I heard Diana claimed that name should she have a daughter early on...not really sure if that was true or not... This was like 20 years ago I heard this.

Looks like Philip is firmly in the lead for boys names. I cannot wait to see how accurate we are. If I remember correctly, Lady Louise's names were a big surprise for all of us!!
Philip Edward Christopher Albert

When Louise was born, I think I had guessed they'd use Alice. At least I was right about it being a middle name!

They'll probably get around to announcing the name a month or two or three from now and will release a photo of them holding the boy, taken by Prince Edward. I wouldn't be surprised if Louise is left out of any photos. These people appear to be very serious about keeping their children out of the spotlight.

Still think it's George. Maybe they'll surprise us and name him something completely unroyal like Callum or Jago or Archie.

I agree that Phillip is a frontrunner.

Phillip George Victor Christian is another possibility.

I also doubt that David will be used; Edward liked his great-uncle,even did a documentary about him,but the Queen and Philip may frown upon the name because of their memories of the time.

Phillip

Andrew could be used (he was Phillip's father)

George (tribute to the Queen's father)

Patrick (the Queen's Uncle on her mother's side)

Christopher (Sophie's father)

Nicholas (Sophie and Edward's common ancestor that makes them 11th cousins--kinda cool)

John (I know everyone says it unlucky but I'm partial--sorry)

Richard(Edward's god-father)

I would like a referance to their Scottish and Welsh history.
How about Rhys Edward Philip Christopher.
I don't know how they are going to explain that the child seemed like a Philip to the press.
Maybe Nicholas or Timothy -
I expect Lord Nicholas Windsor as a godparent.
