I think the British royals give a fairly accurate time frame for when their babies are due

The Daily Mail is reporting tonight that the baby is due on Christmas Day - the link is attached to 'The'. I'm not very good at this am I?!

Several weeks ago I heard that the exact due date for the birth is December 28th.
(with a marge of three weeks before and two weeks after due date) In that case baby Wessex can be expected from Dec 7th 2007 up til January 11th 2008 (that will be perfectly normal)
If The daily Mail information is correct, I assume that she will have a planned cs on December 25th

I find it odd that they would plan to have the baby right on Christmas day. I would plan it for a few days before or after.

I agree, that would be miserable for the royals just sitting in church waiting to hear when she has the baby. Just not smart.

It isn't that easy to plan a pregnancy so the due date is not on a holiday!!! Perhaps they just want a healthy baby no matter what date.

Well when planning a c-section though I know you can have a little leeway give or take a few days. I can't imagine there being some reason why they have to have the baby on Christmas day for it to be healthy. But maybe they think it will be special to have a Christmas baby. Of course this is just a rumor so who knows, we might hear tomorrow that she's had the baby!

I am also a bit confused about the article. If Sophie has already booked herself a room - it really sounds like a CS or an induction. But on Christmas?
They say that this is intended at her local hospital I assume they mean Frimley Park, but that is an NHS hospital and not really well specialised as I sure you remember from Louise's birth. Are they intending to more the baby to St. George's again - if the need arose?
They are also going to get a lot of crap about using an NHS hospital, especially if it is not an emergency like last time. So I'm hoping that I'm reading the artcile wrong and Sophie's local is the King Edward.
I don't mind a Christmas baby, married to one myself but I would never choose to have one. I still expect the baby to come early. This deffinity confirms that they are not going to Norfolk, expect Camilla with the Queen on Christmas wearing an ugly hat.

I think there is nothing wrong with December 25th.
It is mostly quiet and therefore there will be more time for the royal baby without disturbing the normal daily routine too much.
That was one of the reasons that Princess Margriet of the Netherlands had a planned cs on Christmas Day.
28 being the due date I think a 25 birth will be perfectly safe.

Maybe christmas was the due date given to her by her doctors? Well, who knows the little one could come a day or two earlier or later than christmas, most important is, mother and baby to be healthy.

I don't think the Wessexes' intention is to have the baby on Christmas Day, I don't think it's a date they would personally choose...IF the Daily Mail article is accurate, I think this info is being leaked to mis-lead the press.

I have a feeling she'll have the baby one day next week.

They may have a perfect reason for choosing Christmas Day as the caesarean delivery day. I may be wrong, but wasn't Princess Alexandra (Lady Ogilvy) a Christmas Day baby?

I wish for a healthy second baby for TRH the Earl and Countess of Wessex!

I don't understand why the Daily Mail has removed the original photo and replaced it with an old one. Can anyone explain?

I have an aunt who's a Christmas baby and she doesn't like it because she says that the birthday and holiday get lumped into one occassion and she receives less attention and gifts.
I wonder if Sophie is going to have a c-section because of her medical history with her last pregnancy?

She doesn't seem to be showing that much out front. Maybe she's having a boy?

Could be. Then again, it could be a girl.

I'm guessing it's one of the two

I hope it's a boy, that way there is kind of a pattern! Charles has two boys, Anne has a boy and a girl, Andrew has two girls, Edward has a girl...and a boy! BBBGGGGB maybe?

His sense of responsibility is not less than yours or mine. How could we tell right from wrong as simple people in any kind of situation? How could we know that our courage, loyalty and lives were not misused for evil purposes?
