Very excellent article (with Picture!), LadyCat!!! His answers to some of his critics make sense to me. He comes off very articulate and aware of what he's doing (and what's being said about him).

It's hard to know exactly how successful Andrew is at this job, as he admits somewhat himself. A statement like this sounds more belittling than complimentary: “The further he is away from the UK — in places where people are impressed by meeting a son of the Queen — the more effective he is. But he still needs a few more years under his belt.” If those are the thoughts of all the companies he's working for, maybe he's not the best person for the job.

But does he want to be, and is he working flat-out to try to be successful at his job? From everything I read about him, it seems like Andrew feels a pretty strong need to prove himself.

I think, like most people, Andrew's gotten more serious as he's grown older, but the public perception hasn't caught up with that yet, and still thinks he's a playboy.

I think you are right n target with your last comment. Hopefully he will eventually outgrow the playboy image, maybe when he's, oh, say 80!

With regard to the remark about the further he is away from the UK being belittling, it does sound a bit condescending, however Andrew acknowledges that they European market is a done deal, it is other countries the UK needs to development business and trade with.

All in all the article was a positive one, and he sounds very knowledgeable and self-aware.

Default Video of Prince Andrew

Andrew was in Canada this weekend to open an exhibition at a museum. He went to school with the artist, so his remarks are rather informal.

Loved the video! Andrew's dry humor came shining through. It almost seemed as though he made up his speech on the fly.

I love that Andrew likes my own favourite part of my country so much The Canadian north is an inspiring place. Actually, he sounds like he's had more firsthand experience with it than I have.

Nice to see a member of the RF leaving a bar while sober enough to drive! Take note, Young Royals.

Is Harry's really that good? I took a gander at the menu and it looks awfully spendy. Anybody eat there?

Their Veg Risotto is nice and they are more than willing to ensure that their veggie dishes are truly veggie! I believe they are a members only bar, but that might have changed.

Does anyone have photos of P Andrew at his nephew's wedding over the weekend?

Andrew always manages to look so good, that sometimes I wonder why he can't persuade his daughters to dress a little more sensibly.

On the other hand, Andrew's a man, so I guess his range of fashion choices is a fair bit more limited!

What's with the hats? They look like something from the Jetsons . . .

Does anybody know how much influence HRH is going to have on this school?

Thanks, Ice, as always! I may be biased but I think P Andrew is aging quite well.
