I do not understand your point. Beatrice and Eugenie were born HRH Princesses. It is not a gift depending on how hard or even if you work for the Firm. Perhaps you could discuss it over at the "Questions about British Styles and Titles" as recommended earlier by Zonk.

As to "Charles" making their position clear to their father, his brother "Andrew"? I would dearly love to know what the name of the fly on the wall was!

However, last I heard, HM Queen Elizabeth was still the monarch and decisions about the BRF are hers to make. That renders all these alleged conversations utterly void and nothing but stirring by the media hoping to provoke a response.

Totally agree, Marg! I had hoped that the moderators would just shut down this thread. By all accounts, why not just start a thread now for the new baby Princess and opine about how insignificant she will be in 20 years or start a thread for Harry and his yet-to-be-born although will-be-insignificant children.

Let's remember all these children were born into the royal family. They didn't scheme and plot their way in. They are children and grandchildren of the Queen!

On topic (I hope) is the fact that from today, Beatrice is 7'th in line to the brittish throne. This means that she doesn't need the queens permission to marry.

That is correct. Only George, the new princess, Harry and Andrew now need permission for a marriage that will keep them in the line of succession. They can now contract a legal marriage but they lose their succession rights and the rights of their children if they marry without permission. That scenario no longer applies to Beatrice or anyone lower in the line of succession. I haven't included Charles and William as they are currently married but if their current marriages ended then they too would need permission to remarry.

I don't know why the queen would object to Beatrice marrying Dave, but I guess it's nice that she can decide for herself. I personally find it more interesting to see what happens the day Andrew is number seven. But yes, it must be a change for Beatrice to become number seven since there are technical/legal issues with succession and marriage for the first six.

I agree - I really don't know why this discussion about there HRH and 'Princess' is going on! They have it by birth, they haven't commited a crime, they are not marrying someone unacceptable, they are living mostly in the UK - not like leaving the country for good I mean... So why the heck should they give up a titel or them beeing Princesses? You are all not crying so loud for Carl Philip to give up is HRH and Princling status for marrying a soft porn model and kind of trash-tv-celebrity.

She might go back to being 6th if Charles ascends to the throne and neither William nor Harry have any more children. It is unlikely though.

I remember a statement Charles made that when he was King there would be a slim down list of royals doing duties Andrew is already mad that his girls lost there protection officers he is paying for them out of his own pocket which is stupid cause there is no reason why they need protection officers Ann children don't have them Ann said it best years ago my children will be making there way in the world on what ever training they do just cause they have a grandmother who is a queen is no reason for them to be part of the Royal duties and I agree Bea can do all the charity work she wants but it wont be a need the Royals expect of her And I notice any chance to be seen at a Royal event with the Queen there she is front and center Years ago they gave Princess Michael of kent the name pushy princess I think that title should be give to Bea

It seems just natural to me that he should draft his York cousins as well.

In fact, I don't see the point of Beatrice and Eugenie being HRHs if they are not going to be active working royals.
By the time William is king, he will most lilely have at least grown up children in their 20s+ who will be able to carry out full time royal duties, just as William and Harry would have been expected to had Charles inherited the throne a few years ago.

I think that Beatrice and Eugenie will never be needed for full time royal duties, so therefore there is little point in them being titled at all.

Please note that The Royal Forums is a discussion forum.

And as Beatrice and Eugenie are members of the British royal family it is only natural that their role within the family is going to be discussed. As long as people are respectful, there shouldn't any issues.

That being said since it appears that despite the fact that we have requested MANY TIMES that any discussion regarding the HRH title to be discussed in the appropriate threads...any and all additional posts regarding the title will be deleted as off topic with no warnings.

Any and all questions should be directed towards a member of the moderation team via PM.

All of the Queen's grandchildren should have protection IMHO as they are potential targets to extremist groups.

Who knows ? Maybe Charles will have abdicated by the time he is 80 and William will be a relatively young king with an aging father/uncles/aunt and two teenage children. Even if Charles reigns until he is 85 or older, when he will be already undertaking considerable fewer engagements anyway, George and his sister will still be in university living mostly a private life. I don't see the rationale of not "using" Beatrice's and Eugenie's help when they will be (hopefully) healthy, relatively young and available.

I would think after waiting so long to be King. The last thing Charles would do is abdicate.

Still, he will be in his 80s anyway with siblings in their 70s and grandchildren still in school or university, putting a lot of pressure on William, Kate and Harry (and Harry's wife if any). Again, I see no reason not to draft the York princesses unless the Wales family has some personal problem with that. Curiously, I've always thought that William and especially Harry were close to their cousins.

Charles has never actually made such a statement. He's been accused of making such a statement, but if you actually look it up you'll find it was a "sources say" type of statement made in the 90s and never actually supported in any way.

I don't think all of them need - I am sure 70% of the people don't even know who Louise and James are.

Charles can say he wants to slim down the Monarchy but that will naturally happen as the only person who can pass on their HRH style now is Harry (when he is the son of the Monarch). With the death of Anne, Andrew, Edward and Sophie the HRH's will be much smaller in number.

Yes, but it wasn't actually Charles or Andrew saying that. It was a newspaper article claiming that things had been said, but not actually backing it up.

Last August I read an interesting article about how Catherine was pregnant with twins, today's events seem to show that that article wasn't exactly accurate. You should take any article that doesn't name it's sources with a sizeable grain of salt.

And you think Beatrice just turns up, uninvited. I can think of only one event Beatrice has done with the Queen and that was when she was INVITED by the Queen to accompany her to the Royal Maundy service at York Minster.

Any other occasions Beatrice has been present with the Queen have been family occasions such as Easter, Christmas or those events large numbers of the family attend such as Trooping the Colour or Ascot. And as she rides in the carriage processions, presumably the Queen approves of her presence.

How exactly do Beatrice & Eugenie con their charity work? I'm not sure if that was a typo or whether it's what you intended to say.

As Beatrice & Eugenie get no funding from the crown now then nothing's going to change. If they want to perform charity work at their own expense then good on them. I'm quite sure the charities won't mind whether the funding comes out of their pocket or the Royal purse.
