Oh yes that lovely movie.

Don't get me wrong...Angie Everhart is a beautiful woman and since Andrew appeared to have a thing for redheads....though this Amanda woman is pretty as well for a blonde :) Seriously...it makes no difference to me.

Either way...she got a break (royal life can be stifling) and on the other hand.....if she truly loved him....she would have made the sacrifice.
Evidently Miss Amanda is awfully intelligent as well. Whereas Angie seems well. . . hmmmmm.. . . (tactless Russo at it again! :D)

He never really made Angie a permanent fixture, and Amanda subsequently denied they had ever spoken about marriage.

Blackadder I wasn't kidding If Andrew and Caroline ever get together and Sarah really loves Andrew then she'll step back and let them live the Dream That's what a decent woman would do if she wants the man of her life to be truly happy

Thanks for the information, guys. I always thought that the relationship with Angie Everhart was just made up by the press. Interesting. Fear of commitment comes to my mind when I think of Andrew, or perhaps it is just because Fergie is his real soulmate. You know, rewarmed meal doesn't taste that good, perhaps it would be better for him to find a new woman.

Yes, Anne. Since you were talking of fairytales.........

Thanks The Ugly Duckling and Sleeping Beauty are my favorite

The term soulmate is being thrown around a lot the last couple of days at TRF:ROFLMAO:

In the Monaco forums, people are questioning on whether or not Charlene is Albert's true soul mate (and she is coming up short in the poll) and over at the British forums, pretty much a majority of people think that Sarah is Andrew's soulmate.

And here is how it comes out:

Albert & Charlene - not soulmates according to a majority and who are scheduled to marry but shouldn't

Andrew & Sarah - soulmates accordign to a majority most likely not to marry because of Sarah's issues (you can take it anyway you want) but really should.

Not to go off topic but it should be VERY interesting to see how the two couples play out.:whistling:

I really don't see Sarah as doing that. She wants to hold onto that life line PA presents with all she's got.
I'm reading her book she wrote with Weight Watchers. (Russo suspects Weight watchers did everythign and Sarah added little bits and pieces) "Reinventing yourself with the Duchess of York". Sarah doesn't seem to have a grasp of self. Doesn't ever seem to have a good grasp of self. Seems she always identifies self with other things: Motherhood, Duchess, etc. Not just plain Sarah Ferguson. (Or, for the sticklers: Sarah Mountbatten-Windsor.)
IMO, PA knows this which is why he called her "His 3rd child" at his birthday party, and though, again, IMO, PA loves Sarah, he is not IN LOVE with Sarah.
Hence a "new woman" would be best for all involved.

Yes, but Prince Andrew will only get a "new woman" when he wants a new woman. And that might never happen.

Yes, and I think I'm with the majority. When you spell it out like that Zonk it really is quiet sad, especially for A and S.

And would that be a bad thing?

Would it be a bad thing, you mean, if Andrew never found a new woman?

I would like to see Andrew with a partner who is good for him, but most of all, with someone who really knows him and loves him, not just someone who looks suitable in public. If Andrew can find a suitable partner who really loves him and who he really loves in return, I`d be happy to see Andrew remarry. But it would be better for him to be alone than to marry a classy, "suitable" wife who gives him everything except the love relationship he had (or has) with Sarah.

I think the reason Andrew doesn`t find a new woman is because despite all Sarah`s faults, Sarah really knows him and really loves him, and Andrew knows it might not be possible to find that in anyone else.

is because despite all Sarah's faults... she really got under his skin and he has never really left her.

It would be nice to see PA with someone that would help him along like PC has with the DoC. It's still up in the air. We shall see.

Thanks Russo for refreshing my memory. The mind is the first thing to go at my age and everything else follows it.

I think that Andrew will remain unmarried until he finds someone who loves him as much as he loves her. I think he has loved a lot of women in his life (they didn't call him Randy Andy for nothing in his salad days), most have fallen in love with the idea of being "Royal" with all that that entails, I think Andrew was wise enough to see they loved the fantasy more than they loved him.

For better or worse, the only woman he has met who has loved him for himself is Sarah and unless he meets another that loves him more and that he loves more I think he will remain happily single and living a part-time family life. To the chagrin of many, that means Sarah and little anniversary dinners for two. :whistling:

I think another thing is that people have called Andrew "boring" (despite the Randy Andy nickname). He doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, and his favourite sport is golf! He reads military history for fun. I think in the circles of the nouveau riche (not sure if that's completely the right description) where Andrew hangs around, the women are looking for a wealthy man who will offer them a fun and exciting lifestyle. Andrew is a prince, but really, his life is not all that exciting, and it has a lot of restrictions that the lifestyles of other wealthy men don't. I think he Andrew probably feels that once the glow of being royal wore off, most women from the upper levels of society wouldn't be interested in spending their life with him. The younger women would want someone more interesting than an older man who plays golf and whose life otherwise revolves around his children, and older women would have the problem of having to replace Sarah, who would be the same age but who has known Andrew for so much longer and has children with him.

On the other hand, Andrew also is not a country person, so finding a down-to-earth country-loving wife like Charles did is not an option either.

I agree with you rmay286. That, plus the fact that most woman in the right age group 35+ would find it very difficult to live that very restricted lifestyle.

I feel that a woman 35 plus who is first and foremost is an adullt and behaves like one and has come into her own would be able to handle the restricted lifestyle she would have to live in order to live with PA in his world. If they are committed to each other each would support the other no questions asked and not do anything to bring shame on themselves or their better half. When I say come into her own I mean someone who has her own money either made or inherited. Someone who wants him but don't need him. Which would be a welcome change from the mouth open & hands out ex. I think given all that PA has been through in terms of relationships maybe why PA hasn't remarried or really been serious about anyone he just may simply be afraid to risk his heart again. After who all who could blame him.

I'm playing devil's advocate a little bit, but do you think Andrew would want someone who didn't need him? It's one thing for a woman to come to a marriage having a decent income of her own, and another thing for her to be very rich through work or inheritance, so much so that if she left Andrew she could be just as well off as if she were a princess, and maybe better off (no royal restrictions).

Ideally, a new wife for Andrew would both want and need him. At least, need him to the extent that Andrew would feel he was giving her something by marrying her and making her a princess--as long as the princess title wasn't the only reason she was marrying him.

You might just be on to something rmay286.
From the day he was born his every need has been taken care of, he has never had to fend for himself or do much for himself. His future was always mapped out for him, born into one of the richest families in the world and with a team of servants at his beck n call.
That might be one of the reasons he always does what he can to help Sarah, he mightn't mind the shoe being on the other foot.
Having Sarah need him, and having to worry about Sarah and having to deal with her problems and issues somehow makes him feel like he living in the real world and not in a fantasy land

Excuse me ladies, sayeth Russo was raised on the links, golf is NOT boring! *stomp, stomp, unlicensed hair toss*

And as a addendum, I know plenty of people who CHOSE not to drink and they aren't boring either. So there! PFFT! *insert tongue sticking out here*

Prince Andrew supposedly likes golf so that's not boring to him. I'm just curious did he and Sarah ever play golf together or did she ever watch him play golf? Sorry Russo but golf is boring. It tried one time to sit through a round of golf and was bored out of my mind. To each his own as I say.

Speaking as the only daugther of an American Doctor who spent many a Sunday noon on the golf course with my dad. Golf is boring Sorry Russo but I still enjoy reading your posts.

Couldn't agree more - golf is a good walk spoilt in my opinion.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are actually sitting with my dad on the couch watching golf (my dad is a golf fan). Mostly because golf has something pretty and peaceful about it--the lush looking greens, the blue skies, the slow pace of the game. On the other hand, this is exactly why I'm not surprised many people find it boring.

Don't get me wrong I loved the tme with my father I just did not love the sport of golf.

My dad often suggests golf to his patients as apart part of a heath plan to recovery to his patients because of the walking involved with playing golf. My father is a heart specialist.

I think it's an awesome walk. The courses are gorgeous, the trees and shrubs are planted just so. My late mother and step father have a bench on the 17th tee of their favorite golf course. I spent many a good time chatting and bonding with my parents on the course. I enjoy watching it on TV as well. However, Russo does not play. Mr. RUsso is threatening to make me. :D
And, of course, Russo has a lovely saucy tale when her father bumped into Arnold Palmer. . . :whistling:
It would be lovely if PA found a gal who played and enjoyed golf as much as he did.

Yeah, Sarah has watched him play, mainly at golf charity events.

Rex Features - Photographic press agency and picture library, if he plays well he may even get a smooch.

This is why my father-in-law likes golf, too. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to play for a couple of years because of a bad knee.

Maybe Prince Andrew likes golf because it's reasonably private way of socializing. He's good at it.
