Welcome to the Princess Eugenie of York Wedding Dress Suggestions and Musings Thread.

Please use this thread to discuss Eugenie's dress. If you wish to discuss the tiara and jewels you think she may wear, please take it to the 'Wedding Tiara/Jewelry Suggestions and Musings' thread.

Ok Pranter, the store is open. Take me to your magic. Eugenie could do justice to the Strathmore Rose I think.

Wow Pranter, your quick. I like 2nd and all ball gowns. Working on trying to get you a pick a tiara thread—just asked Zonk!

Yup Pranter, tiara thread on its way. Yay. We need wyevale here for the jewels also, he knows the bling.

I have a feeling she'll go with a more traditional dress. Lace and all with a romantic look. Considering her love for florals and the likes, she doesn´t strike me as the minimal type. Def a full skirt too.

Westwood is a really great suggestion Princess Larisa! She´s got the curves to pull it off

Love those Westwood gowns!

Yes I agree...nothing simple and plain. She'll want a big dress.

Off shoulder with sleeves. Big ballgown. With a bit of a drop waist. Just a bit. I'm thinking satin (because she has not been a lace girl to date) or brocade. Maybe both. It's been a while since we have seen a good brocade gown and Eug could pull it off. The only thing I am unsure of is the sleeve. She looks so perfect in a cap sleeve but in Oct-Nov that could be iffy.

She will have GREAT shoes. And it will be a Westwood gown. Westwood suits her so.

I could see something similar to Princess Margaret’s being gorgeous on her. She looks wonderful in that silhouette

A remake of the Queen’s weddingdress would look good on her. They heve te same shape. And it was a beautiful autumn wedding dress.

Eugenie has a truly feminine figure with a great waist and her face is so pretty.
A soft floaty dress which accentuates her waist and face is my pick.

Off shoulder is a no as much for her as Meghan. Getting married in St George's, her shoulders have to be covered.

Eugenie wore Vivienne Westwood to William's wedding. That did her no favors.

Even the best designer is not going to be a hit every time for someone. Her day dress for Will and Kate wedding was bad. But the evening gowns she has worn of Westwood's have been stunning on her.

And because she made the comment about meringue in the interview I'm tossing in some ballgowns!

She more responded to a comment about a ball gown. The reporter said more straight or meringue. And she made a comment about perhaps some where in between. And definitely no meringue sleeves.

I think we will see just that, something in between. Not a sheath or mermaid, but not a full out meringue ball gown either.

Said it with Meghan but think would suit Eugenie, I would love a vintage feel. Wish one of them would. Eugenie especially would look amazing with a bandeau style tiara and it would suit the style.

Now with this wedding I think the style will be very interesting. :flowers: Eugenie has unexpected proclivities and demonstrates a unique style imo. She easily could take inspiration from her mother's grown. Might she even wear the gown, with some adjustments? That would be unusual, and thrifty.

Why would she wear her mother's gown:ermm: Don't think thrifty is a concern

When asked about meringue dresses in the interview, she said 'no meringue sleeves'. :whistling: Bit of a jab at her mother's dress :D

Whether we agree with their taste in fashion, the girls are both big into fashion. And Eugenie has a passion for art, as well as work. Think we will see it come out.

I expect a sleek wedding dress,

The Princess has [what's best described as] a 'Rubenesque figure', and looks her very best when she works with that [something quite 'blowsy'] , rather than squeezing herself into a 'skin-tight' number that invariably look uncomfortable and too small...

These shapes look divine on her...

Maybe the 2 non-mermaid styles. I don't see her doing anything like a mermaid for a wedding dress. I think she will go with fitted top and more wide lower.

Remember the navy dress from Pippa's wedding? She looked gorgeous.

Eugenie's evening gowns to date have been on the sleek side. Usually dark colors with more of a column silhouette. She looked fantastic in all of them. I think a sleeker look might be the way to go for the wedding gown.

I agree, sleeker silhouettes suit her better. Also her dress won’t be very fussy. We can expect some lace/embroidery but not too much. Some dresses I think could suit her and what her dress may look like (except it’ll be custom made).

Eugenie's mother was/is a famous Rubenesque body type(at her best) yet she was the most successful Royal bride of the 1980's(JMHO).

Sarah's gown was just beautiful, and it fit her perfectly.

I have no doubt that her daughter will be gorgeous at the altar next Fall no matter what type of gown she chooses.;)

Actually I’d like her to wear something that’s looks vintage.

I have always loved vintage, usually more like downton abbey (suggested for Meghan) but Eugenie even more. Eugenie has not only a look, but a style that is suited in that direction. Seeing her at Pippa's wedding, the fantastic blue dress she wore, is the perfect example.

I think she would look fantastic in a retro dress. With a great 50's hair style, and a veil placed down in the hair, not blusher.

Here a few I like. Some of tea length, but would look great at full length.

I also think Eugenie will wear Sarah's wedding tiara and I really hope her dress is by Vivienne Westwood. Eugenie looks stunning in their designs.

VW's designs have not always worked for Eugenie, she looked a complete mess at the Cambridge wedding.
