Oh to be a fly on the wall at this particular IOC Session. I wonder how many times, "Who was it again that thought a South Korean Winter Olympics was a good idea?" has been said by now....

When South Korea got the bid for the Winter Olympics in 2011, the present situation in North Korea was something that would have been thought unfathomable at the time. No one knew the impact that North Korea's present leader Kim Jong Un would have on the global situation putting the entire region so close to going off like a firecracker.

As it stands now, South Korea is having trouble selling tickets which is very understandable. Some countries are thinking twice about sending their athletes to compete amid all the tension.

Another ruling that has a big impact is that hockey is a big draw for the winter games. This year its been announced that NHL players are not to participate in the Olympic teams of their countries. So, some real talent is going to be missing from the hockey teams.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what develops as far as these games go.

If there was no covid I suspect she, along with Tim, would have gone as they have done in the past.

I understand Edward was to go but pulled out more due to the Human Rights concerns of China then covid - I suppose he might still make an appearance. They just don't want him standing anywhere near government officials.

Edward normally goes to the Paralympics rather than the Olympics - as the Patron of the British Paralympic Team.
