Shouldn't she have left hospital by now? I was hoping for some going home photos! I suppose if she had a cesarean the stay might be longer, but there has been no word of that.

We're not going to get any photos of them leaving the hospital, we'll be lucky to get one of the baby.

I think there will be one official shot of the baby, Peter (& probably Autumn), Princess Royal & the Queen (& maybe Prince Phillip). Just to show off to full extent the 4 generations aspect of it all, even though the baby may not have a Royal title as such. That way they could arguably get rid of the need for media to try & get the "1st pics" & so Peter & Autumn can go about their lives as they always have in relative peace & quiet. Could see it waiting until the Christening whenever that is.

Like I said we'll be lucky to get that, if they wished they could just pop off back to Hong Kong.

That's where they have been living since getting married.

Congratulations to the couple. Canadian media is reporting that their baby was born a dual British-Canadian citizen.

The papers are reporting that they have offically moved back and Peter is now working out the London office once again. The couple did say that they would live abroad until they decided to have a family. So hopefully that's true info. We probably won't see any pics until their little girl is christened eiither:sad: I do agree that any info on the babies name won't be released until have the New Years weekend.

This is one couple I could see moving abroad again, congrats to them, what a lovely New Year's gift.

I don't think, don't forget that Peter was at the time of his birth the son of Princess Royal and the first grand-child of the Queen, but now his daughter is not a daughter of Prince, despite the fact that she is of royal blood

Thanks, I didn't think of it that way. It makes sense to me now.

Wow tiaratop...it looks like you were right.

We of course, need official confirmation.

What made you think of Savannah?:flowers:

If the baby 's name is Savannah it sounds pretty ,but exotic,it was probably Autumn's idea as her name is unusual as well. She was probably inspired by drama of '90's or 80's "Two Moons Jonction" ,whose main heroine name was Savannah

Gender: Feminine
Usage: English
Pronounced: sə-VAN-ə [key]
From the English word for the large grassy plain, ultimately deriving from the Taino (Native American) word zabana. It came into use as a given name in America in the 19th century. It was revived in the 1980s by the movie 'Savannah Smiles' (1982)

Behind the Name: Meaning, Origin and History of the Name Savannah

Interesting... Definitely did not saw this one coming.

Sorry, but why, she could have picked the name out of a book, why does she have to be inspired by anything?
Savannah is a beautiful name, on Peter Phillips wiki page it lists her as Savannah but not on the succesion page.

While they have every right to name their daughter whatever they wish, I, for one, am disappointed with "Savannah." It falls under the category of made-up names along with other cities, last names as first names, and alternatively spelled names. I thought we could count on the royal family for a little more tradition than this. Around this neck of the woods, people name their dogs Savannah! There, I've said it!

Not a name I was expecting, but a lovely one nonetheless. It always makes me think of the beautiful town in Georgia.

I have to double this. I feel exactly the same.

I'm still hoping the news got it wrong, until the royal family gives an official announcement.

When i was in Savannah -the town in Georgia- in about 1997, it was quite popular (the town as well as the first name). The reason was a tv show in the 90th, which was similar to Beverley Hills 90210. when you type in "Savannah" in German Wikipedia, you get some towns, a porn star, a cat and some ships. Not very nice....

There is an actor in Germany, Uwe Ochsenknecht, who named his 4 kids: Rocco Stark, Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht, Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht and Cheyenne Savannah Ochsenknecht. I always considered these names horrible and had a lot of pity on his kids.

Well, i would have preferred Susanna (which sounds similar to Savannah, that's why it came to my mind). More traditional but not used to much.

Sorry but :ROFLMAO:

Savannah? For a grand grand daughter of the Queen it´s really suitable (not ).

Sorry but the granddaughter of the Queen is called Zara?
Why should being the Queens great grand daughter have anything to do with what name she has, it's not like she'll inherit the throne anytime soon.

I have to agree. If Princess Anne could name her daughter Zara, which is, in my opinion, a far more "out there" name than Savannah, then certainly Peter & Autumn Phillips can name their daughter Savannah. I like it. Savannah Phillips has quite a nice ring to it. Now, we just have to speculate on the middle names. I'd say that Anne or Annabelle is definitely out of the running now.

I always thought (or should i better write -hoped-) the name "Zara" was a one-off blooper, because it stands out between Peter, William, Henry, Beatrice, Eugenie, Louise and James. :ermm:

Well it all depends on what the couple likes, such as the Crown Prince Couple of Denmarks second child is called Isabella which was a surprise, yet it has presumably grown on people.

I like Savannah, and I am glad they didn't go traditional.

Zara is just an other variety of Sarah and it means Princess.
While Savannah means treeless plain.
And a name has a huge influence in ones future.

Savannah... :ermm:
I'm disappointed with such a geographical name. Is it Christian?
As far as I understand by picking such a name for a child of royal blood her parents show they want their baby to have ordinary common life.
What a pity that there is no difference between royals and celebrities anymore.

Zara might mean Princess, but I don't see how the meaning of a name affects the actual person? I'm sure Zara doesn't say "Well my name means Princess, so I gotta act like one".
If a name is the deciding factor in things, then that's truely pathetic.

What a pity that there is no difference between royals and celebrities anymore.

Peter Phillips isn't royal, he just has the Queen for a grandmother, he doesn't act like it, he is free to choose the name for his daughter. Are there any big named celebrities called Savannah?

Yes, me too!
It sounds more like a Hollywood than a royal name.
