Exclamation Before you post: read this!!!!!

Considering that a few posters been overstepping several of our rules because they feel they needed to ' defend' or 'attack' Prince Felipe, Princess Letizia or basically any member who disagreed with them we have been forced to point out a few rules to the people posting in the Spanish forum.

We especially like to point out three rules that have been neglected by a few posters:

1) Insults

Quote:
Insulting comments about other posters and royals are not permitted. Criticism is acceptable; insults and flames are not. We expect our members to treat each other with respect.

Some posters think they need to defend or attack Princess Letizia as if their lives depended on it and due to this they have been insulting other members. In this we would like to remind you that ths rule also applies to the private messages that are sent, so they have to be respectful too.

Apart from insulting and disrespectful comments towards other posters there also have been posted several insulting comments about the Prince and Princess of Asturias. Note that this is unacceptable and that these posts will be deleted.

2) Speculation

The number of speculative posts at the Felipe and Letizia subforum has been growing too. Our rules are very clear about this:

Quote:
Whenever possible, opinions should be based on factual information obtained from reputable sources and should be backed up by references to those sources. The moderators reserve the right to delete posts containing the more fanciful types of gossip and speculation, whether they originate in gossip magazines and websites or are simply fabricated.

The explanation of this rule can be found in FAQs which has also been updated as follows:

Quote:
Why aren't I allowed to criticise any of the royals? I thought freedom of speech was a right.

You are allowed to criticise royals, and you do have the right to freedom of speech; both positive and negative opinions about royals are welcome. However, this is a privately owned forum, and participation is contingent on accepting the Social Knowledge Terms of Service, which forbid the use of obscene, vulgar, threatening, abusive, or defamatory language, and the Community Rules, which also forbid unsubstantiated gossip, spamming, and empty posts. Therefore, it's important that you express your criticism carefully. Please note that name-calling and defamatory statements are not made acceptable by the addition of 'IMO' ('in my opinion') or similar expressions. If one of your posts has been removed by a moderator because of the content, it will have been removed because of how you expressed yourself, not simply because you were critical. You're welcome to reword your post to express your opinion within the limits set by our rules.

In the Felipe and Letizia- subforum the speculative posts mainly deal wih the weight of Princess Letizia, the relationship of Princess Letizia with other Spanish- and foreign royals, how religious she is and supposed pictures of her made during her first marriage. As there is no way that any of us has reliable information on these matters we urge all of you to refrain from posting on these and other speculative topics.

3) Copyrighted texts

Lately an increasing number of complete and translated articles have been posted in the Spanish forum, which is a violation of copyights. Our rules are clear about this:

Quote:
All content on the forum must be in compliance with the US copyright law, as stated in the Terms of Service Agreement. Material that violates the copyright law will be deleted. More details about our copyright policy may be found in the Member FAQs.
The explanation of this rule can be found in FAQs which has also been updated as follows:

Quote:
I've found an interesting article in another language. Can I post a translation of the entire article?

It's a copyright violation to post translations of entire articles. You can post a link to the article, along with a short English summary, in your own words, of the article. If you find a full translation online, you can post a link to it. If you have your own website or blog and wish to post the translation there, you can add a link to it here. However, your provider will probably also have copyright rules, and you may be infringing those rules by storing copyrighted material.

---

All noncompliant posts will be deleted at the discretion of the moderating team. We would like to remind you that the community rules say the following:

Quote:
Please note that violation of the forum rules will result in a formal warning, suspension, or permanent ban, depending on the frequency and severity of the violations.
We hope that with the introduction of this policy the Spanish forum will be a more friendly corner to post/visit so that the vast majority of our posters, who are equally bothered by this as we are, will be able to post their messages, write their opinions etc. in a positive atmosphere. We hope that you all will understand our decision and we are disappointed that it actually had to come to this point.

If you have any questions, remarks or input about the matter, please contact an administrator or a member of the moderating team by private message.

Regards,

TRF Administrators and Spanish Moderators
