Queen Letizia's Co-operation Trips 2015-

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Why should Spain not help even poorer countries? In Honduras for example many lack access to clean water or electricity.

i find it rather odd that spain, given it's precarious current economic climate, supports initiatives outside the country as if they we are still the first world nation we thought we once were. not only that, but to give letizia a paid trip to see the progress of government funded initiatives seems rather luxurious in a country with 40% unemployment.

I'm not quite sure where you get your 40% unemployment figure but it's wrong. Officially Spain has a national unemployment rate of 23% .....including illegal unemployment. While economy is tough, we can always help brother nations in Latinamerica. Giving aid to countries like Honduras and Salvador is not a luxury, is investing in people.

Senegal! Does letizia then do one trip of cooperation per year? If so, did she go anywhere in 2016?

I saw today on the international channel of TVE a clip of Queen Letizia visiting an impoverished neighborhood in the Dominican Republic where funds from Spain where used to bring safe, running water to the community. The clip reminded me of how the Spanish RF remains an important symbolic reference for the people of Latin America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean nations, pretty much as the British RF is a reference in the Commonwealth or even the United States. That transnational profile of the Spanish monarchy is often missed by the English-speaking media for example.
