More than a thousand of journalists and one hundred mass media will cover, next Friday October 21st, the prize-giving ceremony the Prince of Asturias Awards, which will take place at the Campoamor theatre of Oviedo.

The awarded personalities of the Prince of Asturias Awards have started arriving in Oviedo. Nélida Piñon (Prize Prince of Asturias of Literature) has arrived to the hotel Reconquista at the beginning of the afternoon. Piñon will inaugurate tomorrow, along with the neurologist António Damásio (prize Prince of Asturias of Scientific and Technical Investigation) the acts at the Aula Príncipe de Asturias. The hall of Cajastur, in Oviedo, will be the scene, tomorrow at 7:00 p.m., to the conference of the Portuguese neurologist, whereas the Brazilian writer offers her conference, also at 7:00 p.m., at the historical building of the University of Oviedo.

The Foundation Prince of Asturias waits for Don Felipe and Dona Letizia for the acts of the Prizes

The Royal House has not communicated changes of plans with regard to the assistance of the Princess, in outpost been of gestation

OVIEDO, 18 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS)-

The Princes of Asturias have foreseen to initiate in Oviedo on Thursday, in the first hour of the morning, the hearings with personalities and groups, organized for for the Foundation Prince of Asturias on the occasion of the delivery of the Prizes next Friday. The Foundation informed that, at the moment, nobody of the Royal House has reported to them that Dona Letizia should not be going to represent after the false alarm of childbirth that forced her yesterday to join for a few hours the clinic Ruber of Madrid.

The Foundation still has not confirmed if Don Felipeand Dona Letizia will come to Asturias on the same Thursday or tomorrow Wednesday, due to the early hour to which the hearings are foreseen. Sources of the Delegation of Government assured, on his part, that the initial forecast was that the Princes were coming tomorrow to Asturias though this end still has not been a confirmee for the RoyalHouse.

The Foundation has not also been necessary if finally the Princess of Asturias will come, due to her outpost been of gestation, the acts, though sources of the entity assured that, up to the moment, nobody has communicated to them the opposite.

HEARING To the AWARDED

If the anticipated agenda is fulfilled, the Princes will initiate in the morning to ten of Thursday tightened a program that will give beginning with the hearing to the awarded ones with the Medals of Asturias. Throughout Thursday and Friday they will also receive in hearing the students who have obtained Prizes Aim of Race 2004 of the University of Oviedo, to the School Santo Tomás de Avilés and to the protective members of the Foundation Prince of Asturias, as well as to the scholastic community of the Institute of Secondary Education ' River basin of the Nalón' of the Guelgue and to the Real Sporting de Gijón. This exhibition will be has been organized by Cajastur in the occasion of its 125 Anniversary. Next, seven and the average one of afternoon of Thursday, they will attend the concert of closing of XIV the Week of Music, organized by the Foundation Prince of Asturias and Cajastur, in the Audience Prince Felipe of Oviedo, in charge of the Symphony orchestra of the principality of Asturias, the Orfeón Donostiarra (Prize Prince of Asturias of Arts 1984) and the Choir of the Foundation Prince of Asturias, under the direction of Jesus Lopez Cobos (Prize Prince of Asturias of Arts 1981). For Friday, the hearing of the Prizes is predicted Prince of Asturias with all the awarded ones in this edition. Fernando Alonso will arrive in Oviedo on Friday, when there will take place, at 12:30 a.m., the hearings of the Princes with the awarded personalities. In the evening, he will receive the prize in the Campoamor Theater of the Asturian capital. On Saturday, he will participate, at 12:30 a.m., in a colloquy that will take place in the Auditorium Prince Felipe of Oviedo and afterwards he’s expected to greet the multitude from the balcony of the building of Cajastur.

In case that finally Princess travel to Oviedo, she will go with her doctor, a matrona and anesthetist.

So far, Princess Letizia shall not go to Oviedo and attend the previous acts to the prize-giving ceremony, but she’s already expressed her intention to attend the ceremony that will take place at 6:00 p.m. of next Friday.
The emotion that she felt last year, when attending her first ceremony as princess of Asturias will be nothing compared to the one she can feel this Friday, with her baby on the away. Doña Letizia wants to go, but the doctor has the final word.

Everything seems to indicate that the doctors could authorize her presence at the prize-giving ceremony, on Friday, but don’t advise the attendance of other acts that require being on foot for too long. If she travels on Friday to Oviedo, Doña Letizia would be accompanied by Doña Sofía, who returns from her trip to Central America. In addition, she would be accompanied by a doctor, to permanently control her state of health, as it has been happening for months. Thus, what seems discarded by now is that the princess remains in Oviedo beyond the delivery of the awards.

Don Felipe will travel this afternoon to Oviedo - as COPE has investigated - alone to preside the delivery of the current edition of the Prince of Asturias awards. His wife, Doña Letizia, that this week had to go to the hospital during several hours after suffering contractions is said to travel on Friday, together with Queen Sofia that will be back from her trip to Guatemala and El Slavador.
The Prince of Asturias awards are deeply connected to the couple, since one of the first images of them together was made during the event when Felipe greeted the then reporter of TVE.

I think that she'll probably attend only the award ceremony, since there she can be seated for the most part of it.

The article from Terra stated that her health is okay. I believe that she'll travel in the last minute and will surprise us all on Friday (keep your fingers crossed though!)

I lost all Hope! Her docters advice her to stay in Madrid.And what if letizia's have contraccion at night and he is over there in Asturias?And what if he's giving the prices friday and the baby wanted to come to the world? I.m so disapointed! I think Letizias is also sad right now.But the baby go first!!

Don Felipe travels to Oviedo for the delivery of the Prizes Prince of Asturias without Doña Letizia


Doña Letizia, pregnant of eight months and that was yesterday three hours entered because of contractions, does not travel late this night to Oviedo to accompany to Don Felipe in the acts by the delivery by the Prizes Prince by Asturias, because therefore the doctors have advised to her, according to have informed to this newspaper sources next to the House into the King.

Shortly after the 19.00, Don Felipe has started off in airplane for Asturias to attend the delivery of the prizes that take their name. Although Doña Letizia does not accompany him, she does not discard that tomorrow Thursday gotten up to the commemorative acts of 25º years of the prizes Prince of Asturias or even Friday. What yes it seems discarded is that the princess remains in Oviedo beyond the delivery of the awards. Thus, unlike the last year, she will not go to other acts like the recognition to the most beautiful town of the Principality.
