The jury meeting for the 2012 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences
The meetings of the jury responsible for awarding the 2012 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences, the second of eight international awards that will be bestowed by the Prince of Asturias Foundation, will be held on May 15th and 16th. The awards will be bestowed this year for the thirty-second time in their history.

Martha C. Nussbaum 2012 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences
Martha C. Nussbaum has been bestowed with the 2012 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences, as made public today in Oviedo by the Jury responsible for conferring said Award.
The Jury for the Award –convened by the Prince of Asturias Foundation– was chaired by Aurelio Menéndez Menéndez, Marquis of Ibias, and composed of Inés Alberdi Alonso, Lluis Xabel Álvarez Fernández, Gonzalo Anes y Álvarez de Castrillón, Marquis of Castrillón, Inés Fernández-Ordoñez Hernández, José Luis Garcia Delgado, Severino García Vigón, Mauro Guillén Rodríguez, María del Carmen Iglesias Cano, Adolfo Menéndez Menéndez, Manuel Menéndez Menéndez, Manuel Olivencia Ruiz, José Manuel Otero Novas, Carmen Pérez Die, Rafael Puyol Antolín and Juan Vázquez García (acting as secretary).

11:50am: Recipients of the 2012 Medal of Asturias
12:10pm: University of Oviedo End-of-Studies Prizewinners.
12:30pm: Delegation from the “Nuevo Futuro Asturias” Association.
12:50pm: Delegation from the Food Bank of Asturias Foundation.
1:10pm: Members of the Regional Committee of the Spanish Red Cross in the Principality of Asturias.
5:00pm: Delegation from the “Oviedo Congresos” Business Club.
5:20pm: Delegation from the CESPA Foundation (Principality of Asturias Spanish Solidarity Centre).
5:40pm: Delegation from the Mining Rescue Brigade and heads of the Mine Rescue Association.
8:00pm: TRH The Prince and Princess of Asturias will preside over the XXI Prince of Asturias Awards Concert organised by the Prince of Asturias Foundation and Cajastur, to be held in the Prince Felipe Auditorium. Maestro Rossen Milanov, designate conductor of the Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA), will conduct this concert for the first time. This will also be the first time the Foundation’s three choirs perform together.
