Gebrselassie stated on Thursday that he had dreamed all his life to be awarded with the Prince of Asturias Award for Sports, which for him is like a Nobel. He believed that in addition to his sports achievements, also his interest and concern about the growing poverty in his country has also affected that he was awarded. Gebrselassie has been named as a mediator of the Government of Ethiopia for the resolution of conflict and poverty.
