The Princes of Asturias will take as memory of their visit to the Pitiüses a little dog with pedigree donated by Neus Tur, and whose name is Valent II.

In addition to that, the Insular Counsel will present the Princes with a traditional pair of earrings and a ring for the Princess, as well as a pair of cuff-links for him. Palau also announced that the institution will give "a symbolic" gift-surprise destined the future baby.

The president of the Hall of Ibiza and Formentera, Pere Palou, transmitted today to Princes de Asturias the wish of these two islands “to continue being close to the Royal Family”, whose members have shared important moments of the insular life with us. Palou made these statements during the welcoming speech to TRH, on the occasion of their official visit to Ibiza and Formentera, where they will find simple, honest and hard-working people, who have obtained levels of prosperity and well-being that were practically unthinkable a century ago.

This way, Palou stressed that this effort was strengthened by the stability and the development provided by the implantation of democracy in Spain, thanks to the effort of all the Spaniards, but, mainly, to the persistence and the extraordinary leadership of the King, Don Juan Carlos.

Finally, Palou stressed that the Princes of Asturias represent and guarantee the continuity of the Crown’s commitment in the service to Spain and, therefore, the Pitiusas islands want to express their most sincere congratulations for the arriving of TRH’s first child.

The Princes of Asturias punctually arrived at the City Hall of Formentera, at 5:45 p.m., where they were awaited for near 400 inhabitants of the island, inspite of a heavy rain storm. Princess Doña Letizia travelled to Formentera, but she had not attended the previous meeting with businessmen of the transportation sector of Ibiza, nor the lunch with authorities, mayors and businessmen (which took place at 2:00 p.m., in a Hotel of the Pitiusan capital), due to the nauseas caused by the pregnancy.
