letizia looks absolutely radiant in red. the color suits her i must say, she seems to have the extra glow when decked out in red. ie. the red dress that she wore at pre-wedding dinner of prince frederik and princess mary.

From ABC:

http://www.abc.es/abc/pg050224/prensa/noticias/Nacional/Nacional/200502/24/NAC-NAC-024.asp

"To reinforce the good bilateral understanding that already exists", that is the objective, in words of Don Felipe, of the official visit of the Princes of Asturias in Brazil, the first one with these characteristics that they do in Ibero-America.

To it have they dedicated their first day in the modern Brazilian capital, Brasilia, where they were received with honors of Heads of State, under a strong tropical sun, and in the middle of the warm hospitality of the Brazilian people.

To the excellent relations between Spain and Brazil it is necessary to add the friendship that unites the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Don Felipe, who attended his taking of possession, in January 2003, and gave him, a year later in Oviedo, the International Cooperation Prize Prince of Asturias. "We verified with pride and satisfaction the continuous development experienced by the relations between Brazil and Spain, during the last years", said Don Felipe, during the previous toast to the lunch offered yesterday by the Brazilian president, in the spectacular Palace of Itamaraty. "So short period of time, counting on your support and impulse, our two States have become strategic partners", added the Prince, who began and finished his words in Portuguese.

Shortly before, Lula showed his "admiration" towards Spain, which since "being cruelly struck by terrorism, has given an example of how this flagellum can be fought within the framework of the State of Right and the respect to the human rights".

During all the day, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia visited the Senate, the Camera of the Deputies, the Supreme Federal Court and the Palace of Planalto, where the official welcome ceremony was celebrated.

from casareal.es:

I guess so. Although I know for a fact that Lula doesn't speak Spanish (or any other foreign language for that matter), I also know that Felipe speaks Portuguese.

But I think that they had an interpreter in the room to avoid any misunderstandings.

Today, Princes travelled to São Paulo, where they inaugurated a new Cervantes Institute and could observee one of the first editions of the Quijote, illustrated in 1662.

After that, they attended the inauguration of the Forum of the Institute of Foreign trade of Spain (ICEX), by the hand of the governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin. Felipe encouraged the Brazilian people to "still in their ambition to share their progress with all the society", for which he offered his support and assured that "it is vital for Brazil’s economic and social development" that "its consolidated democracy, its bet for the modernization and the economic opening has given concrete fruits". He also emphasized Brazil’s bet for education, as an instrument for the reduction of poverty.

According to La Vanguardia, the injury in Felipe’s right hand was caused by a blow with the door of the car.
