UNM Hosts Spanish Royalty; Endowed Chair Advisory Committee

Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince and Princess of Asturias, will visit the University of New Mexico campus Monday, Oct. 5, for the fourth meeting of the advisory committee for the Prince of Asturias Endowed Chair in Information Science and Related Technologies. This will be the third visit to UNM by H.R.H. The Prince of Asturias since 2000, when the chair was established.

His Royal Highness Felipe de Borbon y Grecia and his wife, Princess Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, will visit the cathedral for a ticket-only prayer service as part of their trip to help the city of Santa Fe celebrate its 400th anniversary.

I always love to watch royal visits to the US and to read what the american media comments.

Letizia looks gorgeous in these photos, and Felipe looks like he is having a good time. I love seeing the couple on official visits together.

So many pictures :) thanks! Letizia looks a bit serious, doesn't she? By the contrary, Felipe looks enthusiastic and enjoying what he's doing.

Princess Letizia's outfits were till now a good choice, IMO.
 
Thanks for the pictures....Letizia must be a little hot....I need to check the weather in Santa Fe but its usually a little humid.

Santa Fe is a BEAUTIFUL city...I hope the Prince and Princess enjoy their time here.
I wonder if the Huffington Post knows Letizia is in the US. They love her!

I also love the fact that the nations first Hispanic governor had the opportunity to meet them.

They (the Huffington Post) have recently discovered Mary, Maxima and Letizia. But Letizia is the clear favorite.
 
Actually the weather in Santa Fe is normally great this time of year. Highs in the mid 60s (F) and lows down in the 40s and typically a chance of rain in the afternoon. Santa Fe normally has a dry climate, given the fact that it is in mountains in a desert area. I'm thrilled they went to Santa Fe as it and the whole area in New Mexico is just beautiful, but you do have to appreciate the desert/mountain landscape. The smell of all the pinon trees is a feast for the senses!

I have to give her points for walking around Santa Fe in her high heels. The terrain there can be a little tricky, especially in the old downtown area (some of the sidewalks need help).
 
Yes, I have been to Santa Fe for a business trip but that was a couple of years ago and I can't remember the weather.

Unless you have been there, you truly can't understand how beautiful Santa Fe is. A hidden jewel.

And yes, those shoes! Beautiful but Letizia definitely isn't doing a lot of walking downtown or in the square. And the food!
 
When are the princes going to be at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago? I live in the city and I'd love to see them. I know it's tomorrow but the time isn't mentioned on the website.
