The Princes travel to Sofia

MARIÁNGEL ALCÁZAR - 10/02/2006 SOFIA

The princess Letizia passed yesterday the first night far from her daughter, the infanta Leonor, from the birth of the girl last October 31. One week after recapturing her official obligations, dona Letizia travelled yesterday to Sofia (Bulgaria), where the Princes of Asturias will preside today at the inauguration of the Institute Cervantes. Though the aim of the trip has a marked cultural accent, the presence of the Princes in Bulgaria, country that aspires to be admitted into the European Union on January 1, 2007, it has turned into a political event of the highest level since Spain is one of its principal allies in the community aspirations of the Bulgarian Government. Proof of it is the dinner that the president, Georgi Parnavov, offered last night don Felipe and dona Letizia. Today, the host will be the prime minister Sergei Stanishev, who will support a meeting with don Felipe. In Sofia, besides, the previous prime minister lives,
Simeón of Saxony, who possesses the king's title for it having been of right when only he was a child. During more than forty years, Simeón lived in Spain and his children are intimate friends of the Prince and the infantas.
Last night, in a Sofia totally covered by the snow and with 15 degrees under zero, dona Letizia dress a thick black coat of cloth to be protected from the low temperatures. Before going out of the hotel, she did several called Madrid in order that her daughter heard her voice for telephone.

Bulgaria gets the Princes been grateful for the support of Spain to its revenue in the EU

(...)
Following the round of contacts, this morning the Prince will meet the prime minister, the Socialist Sergei Stanishev, but little before Don Felipe and Dona Letizia will move to the Palace Vravna, Simeón's residence and Margarita of Bulgaria, to support a breakfast deprived with them. After having practised for four years as prime minister, Simeón presides at the National Alliance Simeón II that, close to the Socialist party and the Movement of Laws and Freedoms of the Turkish minority, the tripartite Bulgarian integrates.
(...)
After the inauguration of the Institute Cervantes - placed in a central building - and before returning to Spain on the same evening, Don Felipe and Dona Letizia will realize an offering before the monument to the unknown soldier, in the square Alexander Nevski, who was raised in honor to the Russian troops that liberated Bulgaria after five centuries of Turkish authority.

Letizia looks wonderful as always... she must've miss darling little Leonor.

i wonder why there're so little coverage of this Cervantes Visit compared to when the princes travel to prague or stockholm? perhaps because back in prague, Letizia was very pregnant, or in Stockholm, they met with fellow royals..

ooohhh...She was better in the dinner with Putin, but now...ooohhh..she looks really horrible again so black and so pale.
Letizia, please, again like the other night, not like that.

I believe that more or less it is the same coverage. Spanish press is enough in Bulgaria, many journalists who cover the information of the Royal House are there (how both journalists of the previous articles); the yesterday dinner with the President of the Republic had a pool of official photos, because of it there are few photos. Later also it depends on the agencies of press that exist in every country, in this case Bulgaria. The most important acts are today, so we will have more photos.;)

It seems that Letizia is hung of the telephone .... it is normal, separating of a baby for the first time is difficult, probably she passes it worse that Leonor, which will be calm in house with her babysitter and the visits of the grandmothers. But really it was absurd to travel with Leonor in a long, brief trip and more with the cold that it does in Bulgaria.

Nice video. I think Letizia is missing her daughter a lot, she didn't look very happy and pleased during this visit. I hope we'll see more pictures from this visit - anyway I agree that there is not very much coverage about it....

Letizia is frozen, yesterday I saw the images in television, they are of the arrival to the palace and she was going taking the gloves from . The temperatures in Bulgaria are very low, it has a climate very different from the Spanish and adapt is difficult especially if you have to go dressed this way.:p

what a cute attitude... :)

wonder who is taking care of leonor now by the way... does she have a nanny or she stayed with her grandparents? if she has a nanny i'm surprised we didn't hear anything about her...

letizia looked superb. black is a nice colour. it really makes her look professional.

:) I wonder if Letizia and Felipe took the little Infanta with them during the trip to Greece...maybe they did, as it wasn't an official visit and they could spend more time with her. It must be hard to leave the little one at home, even if she surely is in good hands.:)

I imagine that she would remain that the babysitter and her grandmothers also will be nearby. The Queen lives to the side so the most probable thing is that time passes with her granddaughter, and same the mother of Letizia, who is accustomed to taking care of her another granddaughter.
On the topic of the babysitter, in Spain the babysitters neither are known of any of the children of the Infantas, it nor is known the people who is employed at the Zarzuela, only to those who occupy the important charges. I imagine that it is a question of discretion and also of safety.;)

I would hardly categorize wearing an outer garment more than once as "recycling".

i loved letizia's outfit today! the skirt is just so beautiful and breaks with the normal things letizia wears. it also makes her look so young without loosing elegance or formality.

isn't this photo of felipe with simeon absolutely lovely? king simeon seems such a nice, warm and honest person to be with... :)

Then , just replace "recycled" by "not new", if you wish.
