In an interview with China's Xinhua News Agency, the King said: "I personally have close friendly relations with various Chinese leaders, current and former. We are interested in building on this relationship with the new Chinese leadership because China plays a vital role in promoting world peace and stability, and has an influential role in regional issues." At the economic level, the King said, Jordan is keen to attract Chinese investments and tourists, and to benefit from China’s expertise in industry and technology and developmental planning for the governorates. "We will work to open up more prospects for the private sector in both countries to promote trade, investment and tourism, especially that Jordan can provide a gateway for Chinese investors to access more than one billion consumers, taking advantage of Jordan’s free trade agreements," he added.

King of Bahrain is in China on an official/working visit. King Abdullah II is on a state visit according to all the articles. Most likely King Hamad is in China for the Arab Expo and meeting with Chinese leaders.

Yes its quite odd. It would've been great to see her in China but so far it looks like a working visit more than a state visit as mentioned by the press. There was no grand official welcoming, no dinner that goes with a state visit. Maybe Queen Rania didn't think there was much on this visit and decided to just catch up with the King in New York if she does go.

Well Petra has made this mistake in the past, calling official visits 'state visits'. On the other hand the King has been invited by the new Chinese president which makes it sound like a state visit.
