April 18, 2016 – Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan called for greater awareness and support for the plight of the millions of refugees fleeing Syria during a visit and documentary film screening at Georgetown on April 14.
Despite the significant strain on Jordan’s infrastructure, she said her country and its people have remained hospitable to the 1.3 million Syrian refugees who have been granted asylum there, providing safe harbor and access to critical services such as healthcare and education.
"All what we hope for is that a day will come, when we have all gone, when people will say that this man has tried, and his family tried. This is all there is to seek in this world."
HM King Hussein I of Jordan
