How does she have time to do this shopping? Do you think she has a stylist or personal shopper?

I was recently watching a fashion show on TV and one of the models in the Fall/Winter 2003-2004 collection by Dominique Sirop was wearing the dress that Rania wore last month to the opening of the Petra Exhibit in the US. Its funny because the first time I saw the dress on the model, i didn't recognize it. It looked a lot prettier on Rania, she adds a regal air to whatever she wears.

I agree with Humera. I was looking at the pictures and was thinking that the dresses look much better on Q Rania than they do on the models.

sorry, they have already been posted, its not my day.
but what i find notefurthy: it is after all rather strange to see the queen dressed like a catwalk queen. the contrast becomes striking when one sees her next to actual Jordanians. what do the experts in this forum think? is there a misrepresentation of 'fashion'? or can one say: everyone has their style?? |

It's probably very easy for the stylist to work with her since most things will look good on her & she has good taste & is probably easy to work with.

i think rania can and should wear stylish clothes...it would be wrong to say she has to purposely "dress down". people in public office all over the world wear nice clothes...
however, i think rania does push it a little. sometimes i get the impression (and this may not be true, but I do get the impression) that she cares more about what she's wearing than about her people. it's not just the clothes. it's also the numerous photo shoots she does i.e. vogue, harper's bazaar, vanity fair, etc. i think that is completely unneccessary and unfair. sure, she could give interviews and the like and they could take pictures and what not. but the fact that she takes so much time doing actual photo shoots similar to the ones actresses and models do is distressing. i really don't know how to explain it. i mean, when i see stylish women who have held prominent roles in govenment or were queens, first ladies, etc. (i.e. jackie kennedy, etc.) i don't get the impression that they are not focused on what really matters. but somehow, rania does give that impression. i know she's done countless things for jordan, but i still get that impression. i don't know. maybe it's just me. |
