Sorry, I don't know know how to do quotes....but I would like to say that you cannot compare Q. Rania and P. Marie Chantal's fianancial backgrounds before their marriages. Q. Rania came from an ordinary professional middle class family, ( her father, a doctor, was the first professional in his family ) with the lifestyle of someone from that background. P. Marie Chantal's father is a ( admittedly self made ) billionaire and by the time he had his family their life style was extremely privileged.

With reference to the biography of the late Q. Alia : Obviously there is a certain amount of hero worship in the way P. Haya describes her late mother, and why not ? ( for instance, I find it diffcult to believe that the princess had the opportunity to have such profound discussions with her mother when she was tragically only four when the lady died ) but there is a lot of truth when she writes about the low key style employed by the late Queen. This was so, and was also typical of the other ladies of the JRF, who have always done their work in a discreet fashion, and continue to do so. Q. Noor was the first person to employ publicists, import professional hairdressers and makeup artists , and generally make the persona of the Queen of Jordan more akin to a movie star than was usual for a member of a royal family, Jordanian or otherwise. The present queen is only following her example.

King Abdullah attended the wedding of the Turkish PM's daugther on July 11.
It was a pretty high profile wedding but Rania wasn't there, I suppose it would've drawn too much attention to her present 'condition'

Yes I know, but the weird thing is that a woman can not work in Turky if she's wearing a scarf and even in some universities too, my Turkish freinds told me that, Anyway that's a different subject!
Queen Rania must be really busy!!

Well Rania and Abdullah hosted a dinner for the Turkish PM and his wife and daughter last week, i suppose she delivered her congratulations then. I personally suspect that Rania didn't attend the wedding because she didnt want to draw too much attention to her pregnancy at such a high profile event. Ofcourse I could be wrong...

the daughter who visited jordan with the turkish pm last week was not the daughter who just got married...i checked gettyimages and you can see they have different names...the one who got married is the eldest daughter and the one who visited jordan is the second daughter i think...

anyhow...why in the world was the greek premier's wife wearing white!! it made rania's outfit she wore to letizia's wedding (the white top with skirt) seem benign...

Madonna, thanx for pointing that out. You're right, it was a different daughter.

Here's an article about the wedding, it also mentions that the four world leaders (including King Abdullah, President Musharraf of Pakistan, and the Greek PM) were witnesses to the secular ceremony. There were aroud 7,000 guests at the wedding!

Sure,.Actually i'm living in a european country and we don't have the feeling that turkey is an european country, there's a lot of turkish immegrents, and they are never considred like european.
Well,a part of Turkey is technicaly in europe, but the relation of Europe to Turkey is the same as for a islamic country near from europe like Morocco.
At least, the medias who interest rania are, sure basically ,in western europe and USA :P

Actually, I think it's the only country that straddles both Europe and Asia (i.e., east of Istanbul is considered Asia, west of it is considered Europe, but many Westerners consider the whole country Asia).
