Thanks for posting this Adamari, it is certainly a much more realistic appraisal of the situation regarding the king and queen than what is written in Ahlan or Vogue which is used a PR vehicle. People should remember that the public face is not always the same as the private person.

An interview with Colleen McGuire who has participated in the "Follow the Women" cycling tour around the Middle East.
"We also ride with the Queen of Jordan, Queen Rania. I had the privilege to ride next to her and she asked me about life in New York. She is a Palestinian herself and very conscientious of the Palestinian problem of a denial for their statehood. Queen Rania is actually a runner more than a biker. She is supporting us again this FTW '08. " LINK Here's a link to the 2005 race that she participated in LINK AMSTERDAM _ Queen Rania attends conference on Global Reporting Initiative, which will release results of efforts launched by Al Gore two years ago to get corporations to report on their social and environmental impacts. Through May 9. LINK Queen Rania wrote a piece for Time about Madeeha Hasan Odhaib, an Iraqi woman who is in this year's "Time 100" list. "It's not every day that success stories echo out of Iraq into the halls of power, but Madeeha Hasan Odhaib defies the norm. Armed with her sewing machine, unflinching stoicism and determination, Madeeha, 37, is mending the fabric of Iraq." LINK
