King to visit Morocco, Italy, France and Tunisia

In Italy’s city of Assisi, the King, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, will receive the Lamp of Peace award for 2019, in recognition of his efforts to promote human rights, harmony, interfaith dialogue, and peace in the Middle East and the world.
...
The King will deliver a speech at the prize ceremony, which will be attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who received the award last year.
...
From Italy, the King will head to Paris to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.
...
From France, the King is due to leave for Tunisia to head the Jordanian delegation participating in the Arab Summit and deliver Jordan’s address at the opening session

King leaves on private annual vacation

Amman, June 27 (Petra) - His Majesty King Abdullah II, Thursday, left Amman for his usual annual private vacation, that will last several weeks in the U.S.

HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was sworn in as Regent, in the presence of Cabinet members.

It was a very wise choice on King Abdullah's part to visit a disaster area. Jordan is a restless powder keg.

The king has been on a private leave for almost a month. I wonder why he missed this years' forum? It was launched on July 23 & will be concluded on 26.

But he was already back to Jordan before the forum starts so it's no surprise he didn't attend this year.
