Caption: February 3, 2008 – King Abdullah and Queen Rania visit a young victim of a road accident. The accident occurred at the Amman-Jerash highway when a passenger bus collided with a water tanker, killing 21 and injuring more than 30 people. The King and Queen visited the injured at four different hospitals and wished them a speedy recovery. King Abdullah, in a letter to the Jordanian Prime Minister, called for changing the “culture and behaviour related to traffic and use of roads” while his wife made an emotional public plea for responsible driving in an op-ed she wrote for the local dailies.
