Mette-Marit and HIV/Aids events

On Tuesday June 16th Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway started a campaign against prejudices against HIV in Oslo together with Roger Cassidy head of a HIV centre and the mayor of Oslo Fabian Stang. On Saturday June 19th the Princess was present when environmental minister Erik Solheim opened the “Access to Life” photo exhibition in Oslo, which is an AIDS photoexhibition at the Stenersen Museum. Norway’s Royal Couple visited Hordaland

King Harald V and his wife Queen Sonja paid a visit to Hordaland between June 16th and 18th, 2009. The couple visited Tysnes, Austevoll, Fedje, Austrheim, Lindås and Radøy. There was already a visit planned to this region in 2005, but it was cancelled due to the King’s illness. Hordaland is the third largest county in Norway, after Askerhus and Oslo in population. A Busy Week for Haakon

Mette-Marit opened exhibition of graduating students

Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit opened the annual exhibition of graduating students by the department for product design at Akershus University College, June 8th 2009. There she met the lecturer Gunnar H. Gundersen and director Per Winge. The exhibition shows complementary works of 45 students of productdesign who made their Bachelor or Master in 2009. Ingrid and Mum at work

Today Norway’s little Princess Ingrid Alexandra and her mother Crown Princess Mette-Marit received the “Miljoagentparaden”, an environmental friendly manifestation, at the Royal Court in Oslo. The “Eco agents” is a childrens environment organisation. Little Princess Ingrid had collected old mobile phones, adapters and other old electric articles from the staff of the palace to recycle them. Queen Sonja opens ‘The Collectors’ Exhibition

Today Queen Sonja of Norway attended the opening of ‘The Collectors’ Exhibition at the Danish and Nordic Pavilions during the 53rd International Art Exhibition on June 4, 2009 in Venice, Italy. Queen Sonja: Operation in June

Queen Sonja will be operated on her foot again. The 71 years old Queen-consort had problems with her feet for quite a while now. The surgery is scheduled for June 22nd in the “Rikshospitalet” in Oslo. It will be the Queen’s 4th surgery on her feet: she had already been operated in 2000, 2002 and 2004. Italian designer Valentino has been designing wedding dresses for future Queens to daytime suits worn by varioues royals in Europe and the Middle East. Valentino’s creations are worn by Queens, Crown Princesses and Princesses. Scandinavian Heirs’ Trip to Greenland

Princess Märtha opens “VIVIL-games”

On May 23rd Princess Märtha Louise atteneded the traditional VIVIL-games at Nadderud Stadium in Stabekk outside Oslo. Haakon and Mette-Marit at “Holmenkollen Relay”

Yesterday CP Haakon, CP Mette-Marit of Norway and their staff took part in the “Holmenkollen Relay”. Their team was called “The Crown Prince Couple’s Court”. Among the participants in the relay were also the Prime Minister and the Minister of foreign affairs. The CP couple’s team finished as 123 out 227 in their class. Mette-Marit of Norway at winter exercise with the Civil Defence

On March 26th Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway was seen at a winter exercise with the Civil Defense. This was the first time the Princess was seen wearing their uniform. The Princess looked healthy and relaxed. After the visit to Mexico the Crown Princess suffered from an attack of indigestion.
