Nobel Peace Prize 2010

Today the Nobel Peace Prize Award ceremony took place in Oslo. This year Chinese human rights activist Liu Xiaobo was awarded for his long and non-violent fight for human rights in China. Xiaobo is imprisoned in China and wasn’t present at the award ceremony in Oslo. Therefore the chair of the prize winner on the podium was left empty during the ceremony. Queen Sonja’s School Award 2010

This year the Kaupanger school in Sogndal was awarded with the Queen Sonja’s School. The school was awarded with the price because it developed good training programs for diverse students. The students have trainings in democratic processes and take part in different student councils. They developed and improved the design of classrooms, teaching materials and teaching methods. Mette-Marit attended the AIDS Conference in Vienna

Crown Princess Mette-Marit was in Austria to attend the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna. About 20,000 delegates from all over the world are participating in the conference.
