Schloss Bückeburg, the fairytale-like seat of the Schaumburg-Lippe family, never looked better than yesterday, when the sympathetic Fürst Alexander (aka “Schaumi”) celebrated the opening of the restaurant in the park of the castle. Death of Fürst Albrecht of Castell-Castell

Albrecht Friedrich Karl, 3rd Fürst of Castell-Castell, has died at the age of 90 yesterday. He was born on August 13th 1925 at Schloss Castell as the second son of the 2nd Fürst and Princess Anna-Agnes of Solms-Hohensolms-Lich. He succeeded as head of the family in 1945 after both his elder brother as his father had died in action during WWII. Princess Benedikte Attends Inauguration Concert at St Peter’s

A centuries-old church organ that was restored over a 25-year period was today inaugurated at St Peter’s Church in Næstved with Princess Benedikte present. The Princess, wearing a navy blue coat over a pale frock with a grey hat, attended the concert that was performed by the church’s choir and organist Christian Kampmann Larsen. Her Royal Highness Duchess Ameli of Oldenburg, née Princess zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, passed away at Eutin on 26 March 2016, aged 93. She was born on 4 March 1923 as the eldest child of Fürst Udo zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg and of his wife, née Countess Margarete zu Castell-Castell. Local press reports that Dowager Fürstin Eilika of Leiningen has died this tuesday in Amorbach, aged 87. The princess died a few days before her 88th birthday on February 2nd.
