Dutch King and Queen Host New Year Reception

At the Royal Palace of Amsterdam today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted the first of the two traditional New Year receptions. This reception saw “several hundred guests” from all corners of Dutch society attend and meet the monarchs. A Golden Wedding Anniversary in The Netherlands

Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband, Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, today celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Flashback Friday: Dutch Prince Announces Engagement

On December 16, 2000, the engagement between Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands – youngest son of Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus – and Laurentien Brinkhorst was announced. The couple had a brief press conference at Huis ten Bosch alongside the groom’s parents, as well as the Brinkhorsts, Laurens-Jan and Jantien. They married in May 2001, and have three children: Eloise, Claus-Casimir and Leonore.

Queen Maxima Awards Prince Bernhard Culture Prize

On Friday December 2nd, Her Majesty Queen Maxima presented the Prince Bernard Cultural Prize 2016 at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ concert hall in Amsterdam. This year the award went to documentarian Heddy Honigmann.
