Second Daughter for Floris and Aimée

The Dutch Royal Family has grown today, with Princess Aimée giving birth to her second child. Aimée and husband Prince Floris welcomed their second daughter at 14:50 local time. The newborn weighed in at a healthy 4050 grams (8.9 pounds), and was named Eliane Sophia Carolina. Religious Wedding of Bernardo Guillermo to take place in September

Bernardo Guillermo, the 32-year-old son of Princess Christina of the Netherlands, will wed in a religious capacity this coming September in New York City. He will marry Eva Prinz-Valdes. She arrived in the company of her parents, and her older sister princess Amalia at the Bloemcamp school in Wassenaar, where she will start in group 1A. Queen Beatrix Celebrates With Knights

On Saturday Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands went to the Grote Kerk in Naarden to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Dutch protestant Johanniter order. The Dutch branch of the ancient order was founded in 1909 by prince Hendrik, consort of queen Wilhelmina of The Netherlands. Seven sculptures are displayed on along route through seven towns in the province of Drenthe. Queen Beatrix Reopens the Royal Palace in Amsterdam

Yesterday queen Beatrix reopened the royal palace on Dam square in Amsterdam. The palace was closed for 3,5 years as the interior was adapted. The palace, that was originally built as a city hall in 1648, got new kitchens and bathrooms, furniture was restaured, 45.000 kilo of asbestos was removed and the chandeliers that were found on the attic were restaured and used in several rooms of the palace.
