Today marks the 98th birthday of Archduke Otto of Austria, Prince of Hungary and Bohemia, former Head of the Austrian Imperial Family from 1922 to his abdication in 2007, perhaps best known simply as Otto von Habsburg, writer, journalist and European politician. More details have been released about the funeral and burial of Archduke Rudolph of Austria, who died last Saturday, 15 May 2010. His Imperial and Royal Highness Archduke Rudolph of Austria passed away yesterday, 15 May 2010, aged 90. He was born on 5 September 1919 in Villa Prangins, near Nyon, Switzerland, where his family was living in exile after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Archduchess Regina Passed Away

Archduchess Regina of Austria, wife of the head of the Austrian imperial family, Archduke Otto, has died this morning in the family house in Pöcking near the Lake Starnberg in Bavaria, Germany.  The 85 year old archduchess died peacefully at 08.40 AM, with several members of the family present, according to a spokesperson of the family. Princess Astrid Takes Over Aunt’s Charity

Earlier this month, Queen Fabiola of the Belgians gave up her patronage of the the ‘Damiaanactie’ as her health prevents her from getting actually involved with the cause. Lower Dotations for Belgian Royals
