The Duchess of Parma Expecting Second Child

The Duchess of Parma, Princess Annemarie of Bourbon-Parma, is expecting her second child. The news was announced earlier today by the Duke and Duchess, who said they were “delighted” they were able to give their daughter a sibling. The new baby is due to make its arrival in late November. Prince Carlos and Princess Annemarie were married in November 2010, and have a daughter, Princess Luisa, born in May 2012.

Count Christian Laid To Rest

The late Count Christian of Rosenborg was today laid to rest following a private funeral service at the Lyngby Church in Lyngby. Amongst the mourners were Queen Margrethe II, Prince Henrik, Princess Marie, Princess Benedikte, and Princess Astrid of Norway. Moritz, Landgrave of Hesse Has Died

The Head of the House of Hesse, Moritz, Landgrave of Hesse, has passed away at the age of eighty-six. The Landgrave passed away in the afternoon of May 23rd, following a long-term lung illness. Count Christian of Rosenborg Has Died

Count Christian of Rosenborg, a first cousin of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, died in his sleep in the late hours of May 21st. The 70-year-old Count, who was born a Prince of Denmark as the youngest son of Hereditary Prince Knud, passed away just before midnight at the Gentofte Hospital with his family by his side. Prince Nikolai Marks Confirmation

The Swedish Marshal of the Realm, Svante Lindqvist, today announced that Christopher O’Neill, the fiance of Princess Madeleine, will not be receiving a royal title upon his June 8 marriage, in accordance with both title requirements and his own wishes. Deaths in the Houses of Bavaria and Schaumburg-Lippe

There have been two deaths this past week in former German royal houses. Princess Editha of Bavaria, the third child of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria and his second wife Princess Antonia of Luxembourg, passed away on May 4th. Prince Maurits Receives Aide-de-Camp Appointment

Prince Maurits was today appointed to the post of aide-de-camp extraordinary to his cousin, King Willem-Alexander. The new King also promoted his cousin to the rank of Captain-Lieutenant in the Dutch Royal Navy. These new appointments mean that Prince Maurits can attend and represent King Willem-Alexander at military ceremonies. His military uniform will bear the monogram of the King.
