Flashback Friday: Christening of Denmark’s Prince Frederik

On this day in 1968, Prince Frederik of Denmark, the month-old son of Princess Margrethe and Prince Henrik and the country’s future King, was christened at the Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen. His godparents were Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg, Prince Georg of Denmark, Count Etienne de Laborde de Monpezat, Baron Maximillian de Watteville-Berckheim and Birgitta Juel Hillingsø.

National Day Celebrated in Luxembourg

Following yesterday’s evening events to kick-off National Day, the main events were held today in Luxembourg to mark the occasion. First up was a ceremony at the Salle de concerts Grande-Duchesse Josephine-Charlotte in which awards and honours were presented to citizens of merit. Afterwards was the military parade at Avenue de la Liberté attended by the Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal couples. The Te Deum at the Cathédral Notre-Dame followed, as per tradition. Norwegian Royals Mark Silver Jubilee in Trondheim

The Norwegian Royal Family has celebrated the 25th anniversary of King Harald’s consecration in Trondheim, the city where the ceremony took place back in 1991. King Felipe Marks 50 Years of Helicopter Units in Spanish Military

Luxembourg’s National Day Celebrations Kick Off

The two-day celebrations of Luxembourg’s National Day began today, with visits to Troisvierges and Esch-sur-Alzette by the Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal Couples.
