Danish Royals Celebrate 1915 Constitution Anniversary

Following on from last night’s concert, the Danish Royal Family was out in force to again mark the 100th anniversary of the 1915 Constitution. The family attended a reception at Christiansborg Palace, hosted by the Danish Parliament. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte chatted in the sunshine outside the main entrance to the building while waiting for Queen Margrethe to arrive. Sweden’s Prince Wilhelm, Duke of Södermanland died fifty years ago today. He was born on June 17, 1884 at Tullgarn Palace to the future King of Sweden, Gustaf V, and his wife, Victoria of Baden. Princess Charlotte To Be Christened On July 5

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will be christened on July 5. The christening will take place at the St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, and will be performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. Danes At Concert Marking 100th Anniversary of 1915 Constitution

Prince Harry Appointed to the Royal Victorian Order

Queen Elizabeth II has appointed her grandson, Prince Harry, a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Buckingham Palace announced this afternoon. The presentation took place privately at Buckingham Palace today. The Royal Victorian Order, founded by Queen Victoria in April 1896, is given to people who have “served the Queen or the Monarchy in a personal way.” It is the first royal order that Prince Harry has received. Sophie Wessex Hosts Garden Party for Blind Veterans UK

After attending the Women’s Institute Centenary Meeting in the morning, the Countess of Wessex hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace to mark the 100th anniversary of another organisation, Blind Veterans UK. Bhutan’s Queen Turns Twenty-Five

Her Majesty the Queen of Bhutan today celebrates her twenty-fifth birthday. Queen Jetsun Pema was born in Thimphu to Dhondup Gyaltshen and Sonam Chuki. She was educated at local schools before attending St. Joseph’s Convent in Kalimpong, India and the Lawrence School in Solan, India where she completed her secondary schooling. President Mukherjee Says Goodbye to Sweden
