New Danish Painting Unveiled

A new painting of the Danish Royal Family was unveiled last week, ahead of its display at Amalienborg. Thomas Kluge, a Danish artist who has previously painted portraits of members of the family on numerous occasions, was the man commissioned to create the portrait. Second Daughter for the Dukes of Parma

The Duke and Duchess of Parma, Prince Carlos and Princess Annemarie of Bourbon-Parma, have welcomed their second child, a daughter. Princess Annemarie gave birth to the infant, who has been named Cécilia Maria Johanna Beatrix, on October 17th at 14:07 at the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague. The infant weighed a small 1,500grams. Regency Plans Revealed in the Netherlands

The Government Information Service in the Netherlands has today revealed their plans should King Willem-Alexander pass away before his heir, daughter Catharina-Amalia, reaches the age of 18. In such an event, Queen Máxima would become the regent for the Princess of Orange until she turns 18 in December 2021. Princess Beatrix Breaks Cheekbone

Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands has broken her cheekbone, the RVD (Government Information Service) announced today. The Princess underwent an operation to fix the break today. She will spend a few days recuperating in hospital, before returning to Huis ten Bosch Palace to recover. She suffered the break in a fall at her home, Huis ten Bosch.
