Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary remained in Colorado on Thursday, with the Crown Prince attending the Sportaccord 2009 conference in Denver. How much for cutlery designed by a Prince? Quite alot!

In a press conference yesterday, Prince Carl Philip introduced a line of silvery cutlery he has design for the Swedish company Mema/GAB. The cutlery line, which has been named CPB 2091, is made of silver and a set of five pieces (knife, fork, spoon, dessert spoon, coffee spoon) can be purchased from goldsmith stores around Sweden for 999 Swedish kroner (approximately 95 Euros). Princess Margriet opens Blindness Prevention Symposium

Princess Margriet yesterday opened a symposium at the Martini Plaza in Groningen, as part of the 75th anniversary of the General Dutch Association for the Prevention of Blindness (ANVBB). Several Dutch organisations involved in preventing blindness are attending the symposium, to bring attention to the avoidable and unnecessary sight and vision problems which can lead to blindness. New Portraits of Danish Royal Family Released

The Danish Royal Court yesterday released a series of new portraits of the adult members of the family. The series of portraits were taken this past January, in conjunction with the New Year’s Courts. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s official visit to the United States continued yesterday, when the pair attended the topping-out ceremony of the new Vestas Wind Systems manufacturing plant in Brighton, Colorado. Constantijn & Laurentien attend ‘Reader’ Premiere

Princess Alexandra attends Basketball Final

Luxembourg’s Princess Alexandra attended the final of the Luxembourg Men’s Basketball Cup 2009. The event was held at the National Sports and Cultural Center in Coque on March 21st. Danish Crown Princely Couple in Bomb Scare

All passengers on a Scandinavian Airlines System flight from Copenhagen Airport to Chicago, which also carried Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, were evacuated yesterday as a passenger remarked that he had a bomb in his backpack. Queen Silvia opens ‘Viola’ Flower Show

The Dutch Queen opened a flower exhibition yeterday in Lisse; and a similar engagement was undertaken by Sweden’s Queen Silvia. Queen Silvia inaugurated the ‘Viola’ Flower Show at Drottningholm Castle in Stockholm today, before touring the exhibition and admiring the flowers on display. More information can be found here.

Beatrix opens Keukenhof Flower Exhibition

The Prince of Orange Speaks at 5th World Water Forum

The Prince of Orange has spoken at the 5th World Water Forum. The forum began on Monday, March 16th, when a summit meeting for heads of state was held at Istanbul’s Ciragan Palace. The Forum is held every three years, and this year’s key themes are sanitation, climate change and increasing demand for water.
