The former King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk, has died. He passed away in a Beijing hospital today after suffering a heart attack. He was eighty-nine years old. Norodom Sihanouk was King of Cambodia from 1941 to 1955, and then again from 1993 to 2004, when he abdicated in favour of his son Norodom Sihamoni. Countess Alix de Lannoy, the mother of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume’s fiancée Stéphanie, passed away yesterday, the Grand Ducal Court confirmed today. The Countess, aged 70, passed away after suffering a stroke. She was born on September 20, 1941 and married Count Philippe de Lannoy in July 1965. The Countess is survived by her husband, eight children and numerous grandchildren.
