Princess Kako Visits Imperial Burial Ground

Japan’s Princess Kako today paid her respects to her ancestors with a visit to the Musashi Imperial Graveyard in Hachiōji. The graveyard is the mausoleum complex which contains the final resting places of the Princess’s great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents: Emperor Hirohito and Empress Kōjun, and Emperor Taishō and Empress Teimei. Princess Marie Opens New Hospital Wing

Princess Marie of Denmark today opened the new building of the South Jutland Hospital in Aabenraa. The new wing features the hospital’s new emergency department, a restaurant and an outpatient psychiatry clinic for children and adolescents. The Danish New Year’s Courts have continued yesterday and today, with further receptions taking place at Christiansborg Palace. Princess Madeleine Announces Second Pregnancy

The Swedish Royal Court has announced that Princess Madeleine is pregnant with her second child. “We are very happy and look forward to welcoming a new member to our family,” the Princess and her husband, Christopher O’Neill, said in the statement. The baby is due in the summer of 2015. Princess Madeleine and Mr O’Neill were married in June 2013, and have a daughter, Leonore, born in February this year.
