Guillaume and Stéphanie Attend Emaischen Festival

The Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg spent some time at the traditional Emaischen festival in Luxembourg City today. Guillaume and Stéphanie were treated to music, dancing and displays of peckvillercher, hand-crafted ceramic birds. Traditionally, the birds are given as gifts between lovers. The Queen today was in Blackburn to mark this year’s Royal Maundy Service. She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh. Princess Leonore To Be Christened in June

The Swedish Royal Court has announced that the christening of Princess Leonore, daughter of Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill, will take place on June 8. Prince Laurent Discharged From Hospital

Belgium’s Prince Laurent was discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon, after spending three weeks in hospital suffering from pneumonia. Following his hospitalisation last week, the Belgian Royal Court confirmed yesterday that Prince Laurent has been placed into an artificial coma by his doctors to aid his recovery from pneumonia. Prince Laurent Hospitalised in Brussels

Belgian media yesterday reported that Prince Laurent, the younger son of former King Albert II and Queen Paola, was hospitalised on Tuesday, the reason being ‘exhaustion’. Newest Swedish Royal: Leonore Lilian Maria

In a cabinet meeting held at the Royal Palace of Stockholm this afternoon, King Carl XVI Gustaf announced the name of his newborn granddaughter, the first child of Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill. The infant, born on February 20 in New York, has been named Leonore Lilian Maria. She is a Princess of Sweden, with the additional title of Duchess of Gotland.
