Tonga’s Queen Mother Dies

Her Majesty Queen Halaevalu Mata’aho, The Queen Mother of Tonga has died today, Sunday 19th February in a hospital in Auckland, New Zealand at the age of 90. According to local reports, Queen Halaevalue Mata’aho – who was the widow of King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV – was flown to New Zealand last week with “minor health issues”. A Rest for the Emperor After Mild Fever

Emperor Akihito of Japan was unable to attend a ritual ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo this morning due to a mild fever. The Imperial Household Agency confirmed that His Imperial Majesty was given a flu shot at the weekend as a measure to prevent pneumonia. Preparations Underway for Imperial Funeral
