Opening of the Swedish Parliament 2009

Today the Royal Family of Sweden attended the annual opening of the House of the Parliament in Stockholm. It was opened shorty after two o’clock in the afternoon. The men attended the opening in dark suits and ties, the women in dark dresses and hats. Haakon and Mette visited Rogaland

Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit visited Rogaland on the Royal yacht “Norge” from September 1st to 3rd. On their first day the couple visited Utsira and it’s lighthouse. Later the day they visited Siratun, the Vindafjordtunet Care Centre, the Vindafjord millennium site and the Ølen Sports Centre. In the evening they attended an official dinner. Polar Music Prize 2009

Reopening of the Palace of Oscarshall

In 2005, the renovations of the Palace of Oscarshall started. In autumn 2006 it was closed for the public. The palace will be reopened for visitors on august 26th. Mette-Marit and the “Coming-Out” Stories

Yesterday, August 4th, Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the opening of the Hamsun center at Hamarøy. The opening of the Hamsun Centre in his childhood home place Hamarøy, is part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Norwegian author Knut Hamsun. As every year Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her birthday, the “Victoria Day”, at the Solliden Palace in Borghol. Her parents, King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia, and her fiancé Daniel Westling were also in attendance. This year’s celebrations were different compared to the usual ones. President Lee visits Sweden

Today, July 12 2009, Sweden’s royal family received South Korea’s President Lee Myung-Bak with First Lady Kim Yoon-ok at Sollidens castle, on the island of Oeland. Norway’s Royal Couple visited Hordaland

King Harald V and his wife Queen Sonja paid a visit to Hordaland between June 16th and 18th, 2009. The couple visited Tysnes, Austevoll, Fedje, Austrheim, Lindås and Radøy. Ingrid and Mum at work

Today Norway’s little Princess Ingrid Alexandra and her mother Crown Princess Mette-Marit received the “Miljoagentparaden”, an environmental friendly manifestation, at the Royal Court in Oslo. The “Eco agents” is a childrens environment organisation. Little Princess Ingrid had collected old mobile phones, adapters and other old electric articles from the staff of the palace to recycle them.
