Grand Duchess Visits Art Exhibition

Grand Duchess Mari­a Teresa of Luxembourg visited the exhibition “Lebensbilder” at the Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünste Cultural Centre with Luxembourgish artist Madeleine Weiss-Bauler. This exhibition was the first exhibition to show the complete catalgoue of works of this local artist. For more information, please see this thread.

Grand Duchess Presents Awards to Blood Donors

Today Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, as President of the Red Cross, presented decorations and congratulations to blood donors who had provided 20, 40 and 80 blood donations at the Cultural Center of Prince Henri Walferdange. Queen Margrethe at Press Conference for New Film

Queen Margrethe today attended the press conference for the film version of “Wild Swans”, a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. The Queen worked on the set and the costumes, as well as writing the script and made eighty collages for the film. Queen Margrethe hands out award to guardsman

On Wednesday, Queen Margrethe handed out the “Queen’s Watch” award to guardsman Jens Høgild Nørgaard at a ceremony on the Rosenburg drill ground in Copenhagen. The “Queen’s Watch” award is a traditional award given out annually to a guardsman who has been nominated by his friends and officers. For more information, please see this thread.

Grand Duke and Duchess in Esch-sur-Sure

The Grand Duke and Duchess paid a joint visit to the dam of Esch-sur-Sure, and then attended the academic session at the Cultural Center Heiderscheid. Grand Duke Henri Cancels Engagements

Luxembourg’s Grand Duke has cancelled all upcoming engagements due to being seriously ill with broncho-pneumonia, the same disease for which his aunt, Queen Fabiola of Belgium, was hospitalised in Brussels. Grand Duke Henri Postpones State Visit

It has been announced that the Grand Duke of Luxembourg has postponed his state visit to Vietnam, which was originally scheduled for the 12th-15th February. In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry said that the visit was being postponed due to health reasons, but that the Grand Duke hoped to make the visit as soon as possible.

Countess Alexandra, as patron of Børnekulturhuset Fyrtøjet, opened its new set at the Children’s Culture House on Saturday. The 18th set design, this one has been inspired by the humourous fairytale about Block Hans.
