National Day Celebrations Begin in Luxembourg

The celebrations for Luxembourg’s National Day kicked off today in Ell with an official visit from the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess where, together with government officials and members of the community, they laid a wreath of flowers at the Monument des Mars before visiting the city council. Countess Alexandra will not be on ‘Vild med Dans’

Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg, former wife of Prince Joachim, has refused an invitation to participate in the Danish version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, a show which sees minor celebrities and would-be celebrities dance in competition with each other to win the competition with their dancing, and perhaps get their ’15 minutes of fame’. Grand Duke Jean in Hospital

Grand Duke Jean, former Grand Duke of Luxembourg, has been admitted into hospital due to basic circulatory problems. It is expected that he will be able to leave after a few more ‘days of observation’, according to Luxembourger Wort. At 1pm today Princess Marie and Prince Joachim left Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen with their new baby son. It’s a Boy for Princess Marie!

Princess Marie Cancels Engagement

Princess Marie has cancelled her engagement on the 26th at the Royal Theatre in order to clear her calender for her baby. Her midwife and doctor are currently “on standby” as she waits in Copenhagen for the baby to arrive. The event at the theatre will, however, still be attended by Prince Joachim.
